My mom just called and said to stay out of Walmart tonight, because as a gang initation 3 women will be shot... They haven't said what Walmart's will be targeted buuuuut I guess they had it on some news up here in WA in then I found this in 2 other states... Just be safe ladies!!!

My sister in law in another state just texted me the same thing, so hopefully its just a hoax but still :(
 
My son called me from school today , he like omg mom please dont go to walmart lol. So I had to look it up. And yeah its a hoax. But still you can never tell what kind of crazies would see that and go out and do something like that just because.
 
I heard this here in Missouri too. I work with about 30 girls and they were passing the message around. So its a hoax huh? That's crazy to pass stuff like that around
 
Hoax, hoax, hoax....I got the text today as well - I'm in Ft. Worth, Tx!! Even one of the news stations had an article about it. The police stations have been overflowing with calls from people about this. The hoax has been in circulation since 2005.
 
It was on the news here tonight too, I guess a bunch of people in our area got the same text messages today too.
 
It may be a hoax, buuuut the terrible thing is, people these days are so unpredictible that someone might just actually do it... UGH.. makes me sick to my stomach... I won't be going to walmart tonight... I hate the walmart by me anyways haha
 
you know, the problem with these fase internet forwards is that people keep passing them on "just to be safe" but really all we are doing is perpetuating the problem by spreading the idea around... in the end i think that puts more people at risk... not mention the 100s of thousands of people that could lose work because we are all stop shopping walmart based on a total hoax.
 
It's ok, Tina! No need to apologize at all. It sounds like that's been pretty widespread today, so I can totally see why it would've concerned you!
 
No one is frustrated with you Tina...it's nice that you are thinking of others and just trying to put the word out there.

What's frustrating is that rumors get started and then just perpetuated by mass fear. I mean MASS fear. It's no one's fault really - we're just conditioned that way now and I just think it's sad - for all of us.

I got the text today too and at first, I was thinking how scary that was. But then, I started wondering if it was a hoax, got home and looked it up.
 
I too got a text today.. So sad, that a text message is enough to send women all over this country into fear, and unable to live our lives regularly without fear of being shot.
I know it is a hoax, but was our world not like this, we wouldnt have hoaxes of such, and if we did, it wouldnt upset and scare so many. :( :(
