It's Monday - what are you up to?

Well with TS Issac out in the Gulf and RNC in town...the county officials thought it would be good to cancel school today so I'm working from home with two kids under foot and they were already tired of being in the house yesterday. I'm praying I don't go insane. My goal is to let them sleep late and be lazy this morning and then give them lots of jobs to do this afternoon. :)

I'm thinking we'll make some pesto, clean out the pantry, re-organize my closet, and maybe make a batch or two of soup if we have the right ingredients.

So what are you up to today?

It's a bank holiday here in the UK, so a day off work :)
Unfortunately, it is pouring with rain again, so just slobbing out in the house

Well, I was up to work at 6 (I work at home - medical transcription), taking a quick little forum break now, back to work for another 45 min or so and then get the kiddos up, feed them, and start homeschool. We'll probably be done with that at 3ish, then free time, supper, and taekwondo. Then more work for me and then bed. Nothing too overly exciting :D

My kids are home because camp ended but school doesn't start until NEXT wednesday. But today I am at work. It's like a vacation.

You're being so productive, Juli! I'm jealous. When I'm home I just want to keep my house from exploding.

Alisa - My kids are 13 and 10. If I don't keep them busy they will drive me insane or totally destroy the house. So I've learned that giving them lots of projects is a good idea (plus for a few bucks I might get my closet and my pantry re-organized). Win, win!

Adrienne is off to school so I will tackle her bedroom. It looks like a tornado has hit it. lol How does an 8 year old girl tear her room apart is beyond me. Then laundry needs to be done and I do believe I have a mountain of it!

This is the first week since 4th of July where there is nothing planned... no classes or events to go too... glorious! :D We put in new flooring in the bedroom that is now the school room - so our house still looks like it exploded with all the stuff that used to be in the bedroom now is out in the living room as things are getting moved around... so plan on working on that today and this week... and also get ready for school to start (so behind on that - thank goodness kiddo is only in kindie!) Tonight, hubby starts his class... first time back in "college" in 15 years.... he is a bit apprehensive... ;)

Yeah our schools were closed too because of the "storm" (it's really just lots of rain). So I'm thinking I need workout and then get the boy busy doing a playroom cleanout. We'll see how that goes over. LOL!

I'm sitting here having some coffee wishing I could just go back to bed. Today is going to be a long day at the office.

I think we are going to go to the library today. I am watching my nephew today, so it's my attempt at getting out of the house for sanity's sack. Today is the first day of four straight days of night school for my husband, so my kids won't see him until Friday after work. Every week this semester is going to be super long... So, I really do need to make sure I don't go insane. Therefore...to the library we go...and hopefully they are all good enough that it doesn't actually make it worse. :)

I have Mondays off so I've caught up on housework already and now I'm catching up on my DVR'd shows while I scrap for the August Portfolio

I'll also have my best friend's 2 girls here to hang out with my DD while their mom is at dialysis today, so they will entertain each other and it gives me more time to myself:D

I think I'm gonna take my crew to the zoo!!! We don't start school till Thursday but tomorrow my oldest has high school orientation then Wednesday my preschooler has orientation and then we have a few orthodontist appointments later in the day so today is like the last big HURRAH before school starts!!!

not too much going on here. straighten up the house and go to the Y are the main things on my agenda. Oh - and hopefully get the baby to actually take a nap in his crib and not in my arms...!

I have to take care of some stuff around the house and have my boys take care of some stuff, too. Then it's off to the commissary to get food for supper and the food/essentials I buy there. If I'm really ambitious, I'll do up my menu plan for the rest of the week so I can make my Trader Joe's/Whole Foods run tomorrow. But right now I'm finishing up a layout - there's a chance that I'll make it to 30 points this month :)

Jason had first grade orientation this morning so we were up at out early this morning. Now I am enjoying a little R&R up in the bedroom with my lappy!!! It's been 6 days since my surgery and my parents are entertaining the boys so I can hang out with my feet up and rest....ummm, scrap!

celebrating my birthday by working LOL! but I do have the rest of the week off and plan on a mini vaca down to Oregon with the fam :)

I'm going to take my two youngest out for sushi for lunch today. We'll be gone during Patrick's birthday, so just kind of doing a lunch thing and to go over with them what's expected of them when we're up in Seattle this next week!!

I need my dh go to through his clothes and see what fits, and what he'll need for the trip, and then go shopping for him.

I'm done shopping for myself, but I just need to choose what I need to bring.

That's about it...just trying to get lots of little things done.

Well, due to Issac Ben's SAINTS p.e. program was cancelled and public schools are closed (as well as the library). I had planned to drop him off at SAINTS and do the library with Gracie. So, instead of tomorrow, today was our first day of homeschooling... Ben is an official K! It went smoothly. Now the kiddos are playing legos and I'm going to squeeze in some scrapping & laundry before lunch. :)

Later today I will have a playdate for a few hours, come home and try not to obsess over our possible move to Idaho, and then scrape something together for dinner!

today i hope to get some scrapping in for the aug portfolio, do some laundry and some cleaning then got to get to the grocery store fun fun lol

Today was the first day of school here, so we were up early getting everyone around and out the door on time! :) I'm working until it's time to pick Callan up from preschool, then we're going out for a first day of school lunch and then home. Once I get the house straightened up and a little laundry done, I'm hoping to sit down and finish going through vacation pics so I can get moving on our album. I'm also going to enjoy not breaking up fights every 15 seconds like I have for the last two weeks of summer vacation. ;)

Today was my son's first day of first grade so I'm enjoying my quiet time and wondering how he is doing, too. I'm also unpacking. We got back late Saturday night from a 10 day vacation to Colorado so I'm trying to get everything back in it's place and get the house looking decent. I'm also both dreading and looking forward to going through the 1,100 or so photos I took while on vacation.

Took Rachel to school, walked the dog, then went back up to the school to take photos of the (OKC) Thunder Book Bus visiting the first graders. Each child got to pick out a book to keep...it was a fun experience for them. But now I'm ready to chill out and do nothing until it's time to pick her up this afternoon!

DH went back to work today after being on vacation last week so I'm got some cleaning done and got caught up on some of the tv series I watch. Now I've got to go make dinner and we'll be working on clearing out the spare bedroom after dinner.

It was the first day of school today and for the first time since I began my SAHM journey I am at a loss for what to do. Both of my kids got off to school with no problems and I managed to choke back tears until after I made it back home alone. It is so quiet here that it hurts.

It's a public holiday here in the UK but it's raining, cold and all my family are on holiday so I am thoroughly bored of my life. My poor doggy has been for 3 walks already today just to fill in some time. It's one of those days when you count down until bedtime!

I don't know Andrea - sounds like a crafting day to me! Get out your glue stick girl and make something pretty!!!

Trista - I bet being home alone all day when you are used to having the kids there is hard and exciting. Just think of all those things you wished you could get done and haven't been able to. You can do those....just later this week. Today, relax and enjoy. BTW - my kids are in 5th and 8th grades and I still cry on the first day of school.

working.working.working. crazy buys here.

and tonight is meet & greet at the school. tomorrow the girls begin school and i have a whole bunch of pta/home & school stuff to do. i'm a little stressed. :/

You're being so productive, Juli! I'm jealous. When I'm home I just want to keep my house from exploding.

Agreed on both counts! This is the kids' last week before school starts (though my preschooler has 2 more weeks). It's a very busy week with appointments and school open houses and such, so today was our one unscheduled day. I took the kids to the playground this morning, now DS1 has a friend over and we're going to see if a neighbor is free to play with DD. (I don't think she's home, so I'm expecting DD and DS2 to need me refereeing and entertaining them. Ugh. Looking forward to school!) Then I need to finish cleaning up from lunch and do/fold/put away a few loads of laundry. If I can accomplish both of those before I need to start dinner, it will have been a productive day, LOL. Probably no scrapping time until the kids go to sleep tonight.
