I just booked our Disney World trip for 6 days at the Caribbean Beach Resort. I was able to get reservations for the Pooh Character meal and the Jojo's Circus/Little Einsteins one. They told me to call back everyday for Chef Mickey and the Spirit of Aloha dinner show. Its the first time I will be there with a child, he's almost 3. Any tips from experienced moms or any must sees? We have time to go to every park. TIA!

Oh! So exciting!! :) I loved Disney(land) when we went...I'd love to go to DW with the kids! Someday!

One thing I will say is that be prepared for your days to be cut short with young children. Mine were 4 and 5 and they couldn't handle long days at the parks - we ended up going home before supper each evening (except the one night there were fireworks - but the kids crashed in our arms while waiting for the bus to take us back to our hotel). I'd read before to take kids back to the hotel for a nap in the afternoon and then go back, but we never did - kinda wish we had, it would have been a nice reprieve for everyone and renewed our energy to go back later.

OH, and, be prepared as well for him to be scared of characters. I wasn't expecting it with my 4 yo and I couldn't get her to meet any of the dressed up characters. She had no problem with the princesses, lol...but she was terrified of the Mickey etc ones. Some kids weren't scared, though...but it's always a possibility.

Yeah, he's a big napper, so I think we are gonna plan to head back to the motel for a nap each day. We have hopper passes, so it should work out well.

If aren't already into the Disboards, you should be! :)
My secret to a happy visit to DisneyWorld (during the crazy Spring Break) was Tour Guide Mike.
To get those hard-to-get reservations, check this section of the Dis. People give away their ressies all the time.
My husband's favorite resturant there was the Whispering Canyon (he loved the big skillet dinner). :)

I second TourGuideMike!

We were hoping to go in October on a school break but it's not gonna work out blah...maybe next fall (Pretty sure we'll avoid it in the summer) We took the oldest 2 the summer 04 and boy was it hot and crowded

And... I pressed soon too quick! LOL

congrats!! You will have a blast! disneyworld was a dream come true for us! Loved every minute!

One resource I found especially helpful was the "Unofficial Guide To Disney(World)"... obviously mine was for DL, lol...but there's one for DW as well. Of the 3 tour guide books I read, it was the best.

Grab it here!

Make use of the extra magic hours since you are staying on property. that will give you an extra hour at the parks in the morning or the evening, just check the schedule.

Use fastpasses!!! That's the most important if you really want to see everything.

Dumbo, I don't think, has fastpasses, and that is ALWAYS a long line, so try to do it first thing on your magic kingdom day.

Rides that are/can be scary:
Dinosaur (don't do it, I won't even go on it)
Snow White (possibly.. the witch pops up a few times)
Haunted Mansion (really just the first part)
The Great Movie Ride (this is such a fabulous ride if you can get him to ignore the thing from Alien coming out of the ceiling LOL)

This is my fav disney site.. gives you TONS of info.. height requirements for rides, everything.

When you do epcot, make sure he gets a kidcot passport.. they have stations in each country, and they'll stamp his passport and he can make a craft, i think

Innoventions in Epcot has a lot of cool stuff too.

Also Epcot, something my parents did with us, and we're going to do with the kids next summer, tell him he has $20 to spend and he has to buy something to eat from every country.. they have food carts and stuff.. packaged local food.. it's neat and they learn something.

Here's the closure schedule, not sure when you guys are going. the only major thing closed right now is Space Mountain and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority and Living With The Land.

here's their Disney w/ a toddler faq...http://allears.net/pl/infant.htm

Another Tour Guide Mike fan here! I signed up on Julie's advice and it was seriously the best $20 I spent. It made the entire trip so much more relaxing and less stressful.

Oh you will have a BLAST!!!!! I love both Disneyland and World we have a great time every time we go! My kids all love the pin trading which is actually better at Disneyworld than Land because its a uniform requirement at Disneyworld to have either a pin lanyard or one of the waist type pin olders. Though your 3 year old may not like that, but mine did!

Fast passes are a must my husband always runs over while I wait in line and gets the fast passes to Splash Mt. and then an hour later goes and gets Space Mt. and an hour later gets Big Thunder Mt. Also at Disneyworld you can get a Fast pass to Winnie the Pooh which I am sure your 3 yr old will LOVE! Also with the fast passes they have a Time on them when they will accept them. As long as you go Any time After the time stamped on the Fast pass they will accept them. A lot of people think you have to go back at exactly that time but you don't as long as its that time or any time after. Oh and on some of the bigger rides like the ones listed above your 3 yr old may not be tall enough so you can also get what is called a Stroller switch and then while u wait for your spouse to go on it once he is done u swap and u can go on it with the stroller switch. It's just like using a Fast pass but it doesn't have a spacific time stamped on it you can use it whenever!! :D Load up on those when possible! :D

We don't really like Epcot Except for Soarin' I recommend that you get a fast pass to that first thing in the day too they do run out of them and its a HUGE line! Also if u do pin trading its better at epcot since there aren't as many rides at epcot but the employee's are still required to wear the lanyards.

hmmm thats all I can think of right now.
