this week, i'm gonna take the whole scraplift thing a little farther, PLUS, on top of an awesome coupon, i'm going to give you the chance to get some portfolio points on top of it ;)

your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to do challenge 16 from September's portfolio.

16 - This photo is amazing! Use at least two design elements here for a layout. Be sure to indicate which elements (some examples: the "layered" shapes, gradient colors, etc) in your credits. -2pts

you never know what you could get this week

I took the purple, the shapes, and the over all 'full' design of the photo

ok I used the rectangle dshape of the door for my frames around my pics and I used the repitition of hexagons as a repeating element :)

Yeah...that's one amazing photo. Hoping I have a chance to work on it this week. I'm thinking a gradient of colors over lots of little shapes of some sort as a background.

Oh man...I've pondered over this one quite a bit and I'm still stumped.

Hi ladies! Since the challenge came from me I figure I should toss in my own two cents. I chose this photo because there's so much you can use in terms of design elements. Here are a few I spotted:

- gradient colors
- purple, pink, blue
- layered shapes
- strips
- geometric shapes ( i spy triangles!)
- um a doorway of some sort, lol

etc etc. Basically whatever catches your eye in the photo :)

My plan was to do layered triangles as the background, would that still count as 2?

Mine :)

Thanks you for the suggestions! Those help a lot!

Thanks from me too! Once you pointed those things out, I was able to see so much more. Do I also see a wood floor? Love wood.

I played again here is mine. I chose the colors from the glass and the diamond shapes overlapping.

Thanks! I was stumped, too, but those ideas help.

I want to play this week, but we have so many evening commitments (very unusual for us) that I'll have to wait and see if there's time. Even if I can't join in, I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else does with this. Maybe seeing everyone else's LOs will inspire me to tackle it for the Portfolio even if I don't get it done by Fri.

I'll play, recipe : layered shapes, ombre (tutorial from dst)

other LOs are so gorgeous :w00t:

I enjoyed this challenge. I used the gradient color starting in the middle and going toward the outside and the arch shape of the door.

Here is mine..I created a patterned background with a center focal point.
