These Chicken Taquitos are seriously sooooo good! My husband and boys request them weekly :) There is cheese in the recipe though...I'm not sure if you can't eat cheese at all or if you just don't want something overwhelmingly cheesy. These don't taste cheesy to me lol!

lol im afraid of that recipe it has lots of bad reviews

aww... those darn Rachael Ray haters! It's yummy!

ETA - agree 1 cup of vodka is a bit much... I eyeball and only put in a 1/2 cup or so... unless I'm cooking for my Mother-in-law, she is from Russia... heehee...

I'm useless. Jordan would eat my stuffed shells 5 nights a week if I made enough of them, lol. He's a very basics kinda guy.

Usually if we're celebrating something, we take out a nice steak and do some kind of potato (like PW's Crash Hot Potatoes) and broccoli and garlic bread. Nothing but salt and pepper to season the steak, and it's soooooooo good!

These are really nummy: http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Pork-Medallions-with-Asian-Flair

It makes A LOT, the 1/2 recipe is usually good for us for 2 meals (for the 2 of us). You can serve it over rice, or pasta (I like it with pasta, dh likes it with rice)

Oh, a ALL-TIME favorite of ours and others I cook it for.... souvlaki served with homemade fried pita bread and gotta have a salad and some lemon rice. Super quick and easy but to die for. We prefer the chicken now instead of the pork. It seems to be juicier. You have to marinade it overnight. So get busy!!!

Souvlaki

3 lb. pork tenderloin, cubed
¾ c. vegetable oil
½ c. lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1 T. oregano
1 T. salt
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. Accent
2 tsp. pepper

Mix the marinade together. Place pork/chicken in it. Allow to marinate overnight. Put on wood skewers that has been soaked for few hours. Grill

Pita Bread

Then you hae to fry it with canola oil sprinkled with oregano greek seasoning.

Then you also have to make some sort of lemon rice.
I have a yummy one if you really want it!!

All my all-time faves are chock full of mushrooms, as those are my absolute favorite things in the whole world, so that doesn't help.

This chicken fried steak is to die for, though.

One of my current faves is Chinese Pepper Steak from the Coca-Cola cookbook. LOL. I always make way more sauce than the recipe calls for, but it is delish and a favorite around the house these days.

Also yummy is Cottage Pie. I prefer to use mashed potatoes on top. It is definitely comfort food-ish so I am not sure if that is considered boring or not.

Or if you like pork, I just throw some salt and pepper on chops and then pan sear them for a few minutes. Once they are nice and brown, I take them out and deglaze the pan with some white wine and then add some black or marion berries (or jam) and then make a nice little simmering sauce from that. Put the chops back in to cook through and add some garlic/onion/pepper. I don't have an actual recipe, but it is good and even my traditional DH likes it.

not allowed to be anymore per doctors orders... sucks, still working on it. ^_^

thanks girlies <3i still havent decided what to make so keep the ideas coming haah

I'm so going to make this!! Vodka Cream Sauce is one of my faves, but I've only had it in restaurants or bottled. I've never made my own...and I have half a bottle of vodka the neighbors brought over when they left the other day!

If I were to ask my boys for their fave recipes, it wouldn't be anything in my top 5! Eric asked me the other night if I could make the Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches again soon (recipe was from Tali). It's in all of their top 5 lists!

There are so many different directions to go La. What type are you looking for? Casserole? Meat and potatoes? Thai? Mexican? Italian?

When I was up at my parents, I marinated a tri-tip, baked it at 375 for 40 min (med rare), grilled some marinated veggies, salad, crusty bread....this is just good basic food but everyone enjoys it so much!

I was at my sisters the other night, and her husband grilled some marinated flank steak, roasted potatoes, cut up tomatoes and avocados with lemon juice drizzled on them, crusty french bread with olive oil and balsamic to dip it in...just good simple food.

I'm not much of a casserole girl...so I couldn't even begin to help you there.

Oh....I was just going to give you a fab recipe but then realized it's shrimp? Is that seafood for you, or is shellfish different? I'll give it anyway. It's from Pioneer Woman and it was a hit!

Firecracker Shrimp

1 pound large (16 to 20 count) shrimp, peeled and deveined.
2 tablespoons hot chili sauce (Sriracha is the best!)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
4 to 5 cloves garlic, pressed
Combine all ingredients in a large Ziploc bag, then add shrimp and marinate for 20 minutes to 2 hours. Skewer shrimp and grill until opaque and brown, with black bits.

well that stinks :( but anything so you are healthy & better!! we want you around for a LONG LONG time :)

I second Debra's suggestion on tri-tip. We had some last weekend and it was super yummy.

Good luck with whatever you decide and I hope everyone enjoys it!!

wtheck is tri-tip LOL
ian hates shrimp - that's the main hold up there, but ce loooooves it so maybe i will make that for him another day.

kristin told me a recipe i was looking @ looked yummy so im doing that becuase i got tired of trying to decide ^_^ i'm just doing a honey teriyaki chicken ... and like a veggie sautee or whatever its called and rice. they'll both eat it. hopefully. I've got the meat soaking in a brine (fyi.. i was unaware of what brine was till an hour ago :p ) and i've just gotta wait about an hour more then i can take it out and cook it. I'm going to try out the recipes you guys posted.. on connor. LOL then if he approves i'll make them for ian.

TriTip is a cut of beef, (steak like, you can cook it in a big piece or cut it up & cook it like smaller steaks) :)

You can always sub chicken instead of shrimp, at least I've found it works well. (I haven't done that particular recipe though)
