Blending photos into a background. The tut here is done in CS I believe and it's a bit different than PSE. Anyone know where there is a clear tut for PSE? It can be PSE6 and up.

Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure there are layer masks in PSE so you should be able to do it? I'm not 100% though...

not all versions of PSE have layer masks... layer masks was added in version 9

I'm confused what you mean by "options"... what step is that? I'm looking at the tutorial right now... do you mean changing the blend mode?

I'm using PSE 9 and I'm not sure about layer masks to tell you the truth - LOL. The options part is - "3. Bring up your options and select a soft edge brush and increase the size to your liking. I used 1200 pixels for a large blend." -- This is after you select the eraser tool.

Oh... I see what you're talking about... when you select the eraser tool at the top there is a solid circle if you click on the little arrow next to it, you'll get the "options" that Sheri is talking about.

Thanks for both Heather - I'm going to give it a try tomorrow :) Going to watch "A Smile as Big as the Moon" with Cheyanne in a few minutes.

I'm not very familiar with PSE (sorry), but if it has a brush tool, you just need to select a soft edged brush and make it large so that it will graduate the pixels around the edge of the image you are blending too. You don't actually need a layer mask, it just allows much more flexibility. The concept of using a brush is to use it to erase around the edges of the photo. There are other methods of blending too.
