ISO - Knitting kit

I've done a search in the shoppe and couldn't find anything but thought I'd ask here in case I've missed something.

Does anyone have a kit that would suit photos of a kid learning to knit???
 
Ok, what kind of colors are you girls thinking for this? Bright.. pastel.. primary.. I can see it going a few ways and I can't pick! lol
 
Maybe something like this with varying lightness/darkness of these colors:

I like this idea too! Which reminds me I haven't touched my son's afghan for eons! I need to start back on it again. I started it in 1997 with the thought that I would finish it before he left for college...he graduated in 2007...but is living at home going to college...so maybe by the time he gets his college degree in 3 years? lol

oh surprise surprise he grew...in 1997 he was 9... in 2007 he was 18...had to rip the whole afghan out and start over again wider (wouldn't add to the side and look right).

Sing with me...it's the afghan that never ends...it goes on and on my friend...
