ISO: Buttons I can buy in a store

Where is the best place to get colored buttons and not pay an arm and a leg? I'm looking to get more buttons for my hybrid projects and would like to buy them locally in a store rather than waiting inpatiently for shipment.

So, where do you get your buttons?

TIA!

I get mine at Michaels with the 40% off coupon and it isn't bad at all! I get the medium/big bag of assorted ones and usually I have one stash of colored and one of more neutrals. But I did splurge one time at my LSS and buy some there, but they were spendy!

I got a bunch of assorted bags @ Joann Fabrics, the brand is "Favorite Findings" and they are in the sewing area and come in tons of different color combos (primary, pastel, fun, ocean, frost, citrus etc) and each bag has at least 130 buttons in different sizes. The retail price on the bag is $1.99 but I think I got them for 40-50% off during a sale.

I'm going to have to check out Jo-Anns and Michaels. I know last time I was at Michael's the only big packs I could find didn't have any pretty colors. Maybe Jo-Ann's will have a better selection.

Thanks for the advice!

Wow! More great advice.

I actually went to Jo-Ann's on Saturday and picked up 6 packages of buttons in all different colors. Now I need to find a good project to use them on!

I'll be keeping my eye out though for more. :)

There was one on digishoptalk like a year or so ago that use buttons for christmas trees. I cant remember who posted it but you take a styrofoam core in the shape of a tree (kinda like a cone I guesss) and pin the buttons all around it.
