Transfer all of my programs over from one computer to another without reinstalling everything?

My desktop is dying, I just ordered a new one from dell, which means I have to transfer everything. And ACDsee is the biggest pain, I think I'll have to buy it again. I'm not even sure. This is one thing that I'm not very tech savvy about.

I would recommend dragging them onto an EHD. One thing I love about MAC is that you can use the time machine and it transfers everything! So easy.

If it's just a hardware fail and not a virus or anything like that, you can use cloning software to clone the data from one drive to another. If you use any kind of backup software they may have an option for doing it as well.

It's just old and slow. I've had it for at least 4 years, probably longer.

How would I do that? Just drag the program files over from the c drive?

That's what I've done in the past Vanessa. I'm not sure if it works on every machine, but it's worth a try
