Is it just me

Or are those darned rings that come with the chipboard albums near impossible to open, lol?
I can NOT figure out how to get the one that came with my album for this month's recipe project open to save my life

I forget which ring comes with Jack album, but I'm assuming it's the REALLY HARD TO OPEN one? LOL. Is it the regular smash-together ring that doesn't have the easy-open hinge? (I'm too lazy to go upstairs and look.)

I am glad you posted this, b/c it's freakin' impossible for me to get them open without 1) smashing the crap outta my finger, or 2) bending it beyond all recognition. I always make my DH do it with his Leatherman tool and screw driver, and every time I ask him he says "alright" but I can tell he's thinking "UGGGGH, AGAIN??" LOL!

I tell him he's lucky b/c I can at least smash them back together myself! :p

Yep. I've no experience with the others, but it's REALLY hard, lol. Thankfully Jeff has a leatherman tool. Hmm; maybe. I think he's misplaced it  We'll figure it out; I'm thinking a good set of needle nose pliers placed inside the ring and expanded with he man strength could do it,lol. I'll keep this up to date :p

I just did the Maya Road 3x3 album and you literally cannot open those rings without tools. I had to open/close them with pliers.

The trick is to get 2 pairs of pliers - hold one side of the ring with one pair and use the other pair to open the opposite side. Hope that helps!

Mikkel is right, or you can put needle nose pliers inside the ring and open the pliers to pry the rings apart. I find them just as hard to close again too!!!

My dh showed me how to open it and actually it's easy, lol. I've been trying to pull it apart, when all you really do is gently grab hold of it just next to either side of that separates;just gently push it apart in opposite directions and it'll fall right open. Then you just pull it apart.
I feel like such a dope,lol.

I KNOW! Some are terrible and I had to resort to the needle-nose pliers too on a few of them. Then today I was working with a 7gypsies album and the darn rings are so loose they won't stay closed! :cursing:
