Is it bad to be so excited...

that a very good friend of mine is getting divorced?? Seriously, she told me yesterday, and we both (believe it or not) were almost laughing about it. She is so happy about it, its freaky. And I'm just as happy too. I laughed and told her that it was almost as fun as hearing that she was pregnant or engaged, lol!

Anyways, before you think I'm COMPLETELY off my rocker, here's some background: She has 3 kids by him, and he had totally abandoned them 6 years ago. Every time she'd try to collect any money for the kids for support, he'd disappear. Quit his job, work under the table, so he could claim he wasn't making any money. Eventually the g'ment took his truck and gave her the money for it, and FINALLY he's paying support. Anyways, she knew that he cheated on her multiple times, but until she had proof or he admitted it, she refused to get a divorce. She was trying to save her marriage. FINALLY on Saturday, he admitted that not only did he cheat on her, he LIVED with a girl for 6 months!

So, she's got the papers, and she's going to serve them to him next time she sees him. Or maybe mail them. They live about 8 hours apart, and he tends to avoid her unless he needs money (which is ironic... she has so little money, and his payments barely pay the rent per month, and he tries to live off her... ugh). She is just SO relieved that this is almost over! She said she mentally divorced him so long ago, she feels no pain about it. Just happiness! Woot!

That's good to hear that it looks like life will be happier for her. I don't understand though why she waited to so long after all that.

Oh, I'm glad that she's finally getting that divorce! It was a BAD situation all around, now at least there will be some peace!

*lol* BTDT.

Not ONE person said, 'Why?' or 'How awful!' or 'No! You don't say!' when I went through my divorce.

My mom said, and I quote, 'Oh, all right. When do you need us to come down to help you move your stuff back up here?'

You should make her a cake & then send a pic to the Cakewrecks blog. :)

Ha, good idea!! I love that blog.

I think you are def entitled to be happy! Im glad shes doing so well too, I know how ugly divorces can be!

Yes, she should be excited. What a horrible relationship! While I'm one for preserving families and working through problems, that relationship was clearly unhealthy and needed to end! GO HER!

Dude, if my good friend was married to a loser like that, I'd be doing cartwheels and bouncing off the walls in excitement when she divorced him! Party on!
