Is it bad that..

ok I just googled those ARE all cockatoos. That is amazing you have them wild. Do you know the pet shop I got my Goffin Cockatoo (they are from indonesia I believe) sells those birds for about $1,900 for a Galah and closer to $3,000 for a Major Mitchells. Cockatoos are super expensive here and also one of the most rehomed birds since they pluck their feathers frequently and they are noisy.

I remember a fb friend in Canada had a $5000 galah and I giggle seeing about $100,000 worth on my front lawn lol. Then we have a family of ducks come up to the door for food. It's a great spot to live with kids.

OK that is even crazier, $5000!!!

Kangaroos and Wallaby are probably really expensive here too LOL I knew a pet shop that had a wallaby on display. Every so often you hear about someones (probably illegal) exotic pet getting out and running loose somewhere.

Oh we're not allowed to own them. Or sell them, they'd be in lots of trouble! Some people just have them from babies but I am sure it's not right lol.

I had a pet kangaroo (joey) when I was a kid - it was orphaned. It was the most adorable thing - would follow me everywhere. Mum made a pouch out of old grain sacks and hung it near the flue for our wood heater for it to sleep in. Sadly it died after about six months.

I also had a pet galah - my Dad shot at it because there was a mob of them in our fruit trees. He clipped its wing and it was never able to fly again. But he lived on for 30+ years after that.
