(10) Describe your engagement story. He woke me up early the day after my birthday and we went for a drive. He drove us out to the country and parked so we could watch the sunrise. As soon as we saw the sun peek up over the horizon, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

(12) Do you talk abt the future a lot with your SO? All the time. He is my future!!
(13) Is your SO the sensitive emotional one or the strong silent type? He's a little bit of both. He's not overly emotional, but he's not the silent type either I don't think.
(14) Do you like public displays of affection? Do you regularly perform them? As far as PDA goes, we just hug, smooch and hold hands.
(15) Is there anything you won't tolerate in a relationship? Cheating. I've been cheated on before and I can't deal with that again.

(17) Would you be able to handle a long distance relationship? I wouldn't ever want to be in a long distance relationship with him, but we would make it work if we had to.
(18) Do you believe in living together before marriage? Before engagement? Ummm... I know it's not always looked upon very well, but we lived together 4 months after we started dating.

hmm we call silly no-meaning names to each other hehe, but that's sorta our own thing hehe.

to a concert or movie. or just playing tourist in our hometown (so fun! most of my friends never even went to the number one tourist spot in our city yet they've lived here for decades)

hanging in our lounge room ;) we're homebound geeks

no. i always mean it when i say that.

hmm... we do it officially and within our customs, so it's pretty formal. But he did asked me informally when we were lounging at home and i was half asleep, he stroked my hair and asked (okay i can't really make up what he said thoroughly, but his last sentence was) "so, will you be my wife?". i jumped out and said "What?!?" ahahaahahaha.. then he asked again then i said, "yes!". That was about a couple of weeks before our official engagement.

hmm we're still engaged but i guess around a year after we gotten engaged.

yes, but we try to keep our feet on the ground and enjoy the present. always.

he's verrrrryy shy about it. the most 'public' would be holding hands and a quick peck on the cheek.

i've had a couple before and it worked fine.

i'm fine with any, though i don't do it myself. for me it kinda spoils the fun after marriage 'drama' of living together. But i have seen a few of my friends who do that and they're great.

My first boyfriend and I went out for 6 months. He was the only guy I'd ever gone out with besides DH.

Kinda yes, kinda no. DH calls me "babe", he's just "Trev" to me, lol. Funny story, when we were going out and first married, he called me "babe" ALL the time...but then when he'd be talking to his mom or sister on the phone, he'd accidentally call THEM "babe". We've never let him live it down. ;)

(07) What is your ideal night out with your sweetie?
Going out for a nice dinner, to a movie that we both want to see, and then out for cheesecake and a drink (or two, or three, lol), and staying in a nice hotel overnight.

(08) What is your ideal night in with your sweetie?
Ordering pizza, renting a movie, and then a li'l somthin'somthin. ;)

Yes.

(10) Describe your engagement story.
We were technically engaged long before I got actually proposed to...I moved over 9 hours to live near him, but told him before I moved that I wanted to know that our relationship was going somewhere. Soon after I moved here, we went ring shopping...I chose 3 that I liked and then wandered around in the store when he went in to choose the ring he wanted to give me and the diamonds to put in it. I was supposed to be getting my ring the end of August according to the store, but apparently it came in early and he took off work early and ran to the city and got it. We were supposed to be going out for supper that night with a few people, and he was late getting to my apartment, but they were all there. He came in and went straight to the bathroom...I didn't think much of it, but then as we were walking out the door he asked where my necklace was, which was in my bathroom cabinet. So I ducked in there to grab it, and inside the cabinet, he'd put my ring in the box, open, with a sticky note that said "Will You Marry Me?"...I screamed and ran out and told him yes, of course! :D

(11) How soon after your engagement did you get married?
I moved here in July, we were engaged mid-August, and we were married December 9 of the same year (we had met in January of that same year). I wanted to get married in September, but the hall was rented out already...turns out to friends of ours, lol...ours was the next wedding (there were a whole bunch that year), so the very last song at their dance, they played the song we'd chosen for our first dance. :)

Yes, we always have, and we like planning out out future, even if it doesn't always go according to plan. :)

He's the strong silent type...though I have caught him crying, he always brushes it off, lol.

Noooo. Well, when we were going out, probably we did, haha. But now that we're older, more mature and have kids...no way! :D

(15) Is there anything you won't tolerate in a relationship?
If he would have ever pushed me, hit me or spoke to me abusively, I woulda been SO out of there.

(16) What is the one thing that you value most in your relationship with your sweetie?
Our kids. DH and I haven't had the easiest time of being married, but we've stuck it out for the kids and things are starting to get a lot better and easier.

We did it for 5 months...he drove 9 hours to come visit me once and I flew out for his sister's wedding...those were the only times we saw eachother before I moved here.

(18) Do you believe in living together before marriage? Before engagement?
No...we had chaperones with us everywhere we went and lived in separate houses until we were married. When I moved here, I moved in with his parents, where he still lived...so he moved into a holiday trailer in his friend's yard, until I got my own apartment (which he paid for, lol) and he moved back in with his parents.

We went out to dinner at Olive Garden (our fave restaurant) with our best friends, after we were done eating we were sitting and talking and he said something like "hey isn't that so-and-so over there" and so I turned around to look and didn't see anyone we knew and when I turned back around there was the little red box with my ring sitting in front of me & he asked me to marry him!

He took me star gazing for the second time up on the mountain. It was chilly and we were all cuddled up and looking at the stars, watching the lightning in the distance (it was stormy in the city). He dropped something he was fiddling around with (or pretended he did...lol) and then went to pick it up... next thing I knew he was down on one knee proposing! :wub:

Oh man. I don't know... lots of things! Not just one! That I can be crazy and weird and he'll think it's cute. Or that I can be wearing jammies, unshowered, no makeup, hair's a mess and he still says I'm beautiful. That's really important to me. Knowing he loves me no matter what. :wub:

I know I'm probably in the minority here... but no. I'm really conservative b/c of my religious beliefs. The most we did when dating was kiss, hold hands, and hug! We "saved ourselves" for eachother. ;)

My dh is an AA (friend of Bill W) and on this year anniversary he said in front of everybody that he loves me and his life would be empty and meaningless without me

No, he's a live in the now type of guy.

I like them, but DH doesn't.

He is a very patient man and he pretty much let's me have what I want as long as bills are paid and food is in the house.

No. DH and I spent our four month engagement apart and it was HARD.

No I don't believe in co-habitating until after marriage. The most DH and I did while we were engaged is hold hands and kiss. We did not consummate our relationship until our wedding night.

Even when I tried to be cool in college and, like, use the 'f' word regularly and not go to church (ooooooh...), I couldn't do flings. I'm just not a fling kind of gurl. There is too much Anne Shirley Blythe in me, I think.

I was with the ex for 4 1/2 years.

His charisma and personableness (word?) is amazing to me. He insists that it's not natural for him, but learned from being a salesman the last 3 years... which makes it even more amazing as it is a seamless act then.

My birthday this year was unbelievable: sleeping in, a mushy card and CD, a surprise couples massage, dinner at a fancy restaurant, & a play.

that I trust him and he trusts me

Sometimes. He gets scared off if it's a lot of talk abt 'our' future, but we do often talk abt what he's going to do after he gets his MBA next year.

My love language is touch, so.... yes. Jeff and I usually hold hands in the car and when we are walking to and from places. He gets pretty OCD if there's a cart involved at said place, so never then. *lol* He almost always opens the car door for me, too. He might occasionally give me a kiss on the lips while we're out and about like waiting in line or as he's opening my door for me, but nothing major.

Get a few drinks in him, though, and..... whoa! He has his arm around me, kissing my cheek or forehead, whispering in my ear, anything he can do to get close to me. Unfortunately, he has to drink enough to get past the really obnoxious stupid phase into the touchy-feely phase. :p

Even if it hurts, we are always honest. I respect honesty even if I am hurt or mad or upset. He does, too. It's much easier to resolve an argument if we're both honest, and we've both learned this from our previous failed relationships.

We lived 2 1/2 hours apart during the first 8 months of our relationship, so yes. I'm grateful I moved when I did, though, as our relationship had basically stalled at that point from the distance. It's become infinitely better and easier living in the same city.

I refused the first time around.

Jeff knows I won't until I'm at least engaged, but neither of us is ready to give up living alone just yet, so it's a moot point! *lol*

He is 10 years older than me, so he didn't have time, I didn't think, to be with me, if he wasn't serious about it getting any further. So I told him one day, that he needed to make a decision, because I wanted to get married and have kids with him, and I wasn't having kids until we got married. I also didn't want to be with a guy, that didn't want to make that commitment to me, after wasting 4 years with someone else previous to that. He asked me right then to marry him, he picked out my ring a month or so later when he went into the city for better selection. LOL

I thought it took a lot of courage. My parents were livid of course and kicked me out of my house and I lived with his sister for 6 months. We both worked and I was still in school so we decided the best thing was to hold off till I graduated and we were all set up. I finished up my last year of highschool and he set up for me with our first apartment. Then we waited a few years to get married until I was ready and things have been incredible since :) Oh and all is right with my parents now. I think they love him more then me LOL

Lasting. I tried to have a fling, ended up falling madly in love with the guy, and then he broke my heart and broke up with me because I was going back to school. Our agreed upon summer fling was a bust. I still love him dearly and he's one of my best friends now :)

:) We're not fans of Baltimore. It's a miserable city with small pockets of goodness. So Jordan was adamant that he not propose here at home. So instead he worked out with his aunt that we would spend almost 2 weeks down in FL at her condo. He worked out the vacation time with my bosses, worked out leaving Tiger with his parents, and all the other plans, all without me knowing. Both of our families knew about it, I was totally in the dark until a few days before the trip. So we flew down there, and were enjoying the beaches and whatnot cuz I LOVE beaches. It's an obsession. So one day we went out to a little island (Captiva Island). We laid out and tanned for hte day, then went and got something to eat, and then went back to the beach to watch the sunset. He kept walking and walking and walking until finally I was like ok, I want to sit down and enjoy this. So he sat down and I snuggled in his lap and he put his arms around me and we watched the sunset (which was gorgeous). I got up to put my camera away, and while my back was turned he said there's just one more thing, and when I turned around he was on one knee asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. I starting crying and hugging him (even though I knew that at some point on the trip he'd be proposing - he'd had the ring for 4 months!). It was amazing. :)

We've never been ones to make big deals out of birthdays but when I turned 30 was a difficult year for me. We were going on our 3rd year of trying to get pregnant, living far from home and I was just down in the dumps a lot. When we got home from church that day, my entire family was standing in my kitchen yelling surprise. He organized a surprise party for me all by himself :)

It's been so long since I dated that I'm not sure lol

I don't do pet names...DH has always called me "baby"

DH is military and we'd been dating almost a year when he found out he was being transferred. I knew he was "the one" but he tried to throw me off by acting all cool about it and talking about us doing "long distance" dating. I was so upset that he didn't seem to think it was a big deal. It was during the summer, and we took 4 days and drove down to gulf shores, al. He proposed at sunset on the beach. I wanted to kill him afterward
for making me so upset lol

5 months...he proposed in July and we got married in December...we had to move fast b/c he was being transferred :)

Umm..peck on the cheek or hand holding ...yes...tongue down the throat..no

honesty...we tell each other everything and I trust him completely

well I can say yes on this one for sure lol..DH spent a year in Afghanistan and is currently gone for another year right now

Umm..no I don't because of my religious beliefs
