Induction vs. Natural Labor

I laughed at this because everytime I told someone we were homebirthing, they asked if it was because we wanted to waterbirth, and I did NOT want that at all. It didn't sound appealing or relaxing to me. Everytime I pictured my birth, we were delivering with me standing in our living room. When the time came on Monday, I was in the bath the entire time, and even though I got up to get out, I immediately felt the need to push. So, I got back down and delivered in there, as well.

Semen has natural prostiglandins, which are also in Evening Primrose Oil, in it which help soften and thin your cervix.:thumbup:
 
I am glad you are going with what you think is right. I agree that you shouldn't be induced unless there is a medical reason for it. That being said... (haha) all three of mine were induced. None of them wanted to come out. I went 2+ weeks overdue with my first (close to 3 weeks) and he weighed over 10 pounds. I was overdue with my second and he weighed 9.5 pounds. I am a big enough person (5'10") to handle babies that big, but it isn't something I would wish on anyone. My 3rd was induced on my due date and she weighed only 7.5 pounds (only about 2 hours of labor). I thought she was soooo tiny... until my nurse told me that she was still larger than most babies born that day.
