I'm such a tool!

We have a split level house, from our main floor, it's about 4 steps down into the big den (that we use for a playroom) and the laundry room is right off that. I was carrying a small basket of laundry down, and fell down those 4 steps!

I totally smacked my tailbone, and my right elbow is in wicked pain.

I feel like such a loser sometimes! I'm so clumsy, this is not the first time I smacked my tailbone on these same steps. When we were moving in, I slipped on them and hurt my tailbone. I seem to just slip and fall straight down onto my ass, not actually "tumble" down the stairs.

I've been feeling so bad lately about myself, and when I fell, I just broke into tears. Tony figured I must be seriously injured, but I just felt so dumb and embarrassed. Why am I so clumsy and dumb? :(

Ow!

Oh no! I'm sorry Jamie! I hope you feel better soon! And remember YOU can ice skate, you are not clumsy! :)

That's the stupid thing. All of my life, I could skate, spin, jump. Make me walk in a straight line though, and I'm on my ass! I am so bad!

I have done it countless times too Jamie!!! I think I have a permanent bruise on my tail bone. {{{hugs}}}

awww Jamie!!! You're NOT clumsy and dumb, I promise! Carpet on steps is slick. We have a 2-story house and I have done it more times than I can count and I too always seem to land on the tail bone, lol. So if you are clumsy and dumb so am I and I refuse to accept THAT, so there! :-) I hope you feel better today huh!

see I'm terrified of falling on our stairs..

(((Hugs))) You are NOT DLUMSY AND DUMB..just tell Tony you can't do laundry anymore...

awww (((HUGS))) if it makes you feel any better - I'm SUCH a klutz, I swear I fall over thin air most of the time!

Oh honey that happens to the best of us :( I am so sorry you have been feeling down. I hope that you feel better soon. Im another klutz so I know how ya feel babe!

Awww hugs Jamie!! You are not clumsy and dumb!!! I've fallen down my stairs more times than I care to admit. :)

Awww, sorry Jamie. You've been getting the worst luck lately, I hope it clears up for you soon and things start looking up. :)

Aww I totally feel for you Jamie!!! I have do that many times and I do the same thing wam bam and bounce down about 4 steps on my butt!! The last time was just this past mother's day and I too just broke down and cried and scraed the crap outta my two little ones...they were so stunned they too bust out in tears and we all just had a good cry fest!!

I hope your tushy and elbow feel beeter soon!!! (((HUGS)))

Ouch! We all fall down -- I even broke my tailbone when I was younger. So, just take it easy and be nice to yourself today!

ow ow ow, honestly I think carrying something while walking down steps can be tricky.

hope you feel better soon!

lol well this explains the butt and elbow issues.. haha. OUCH deary... rest your toushie.. and elbow.. LOL I sooo do s tuff like that all the time .

Oh I feel your pain Jaime - happens to me all the time. And usually in the most embarrassing possible moment. And remember, when we feel down in general, we are always hardest on ourselves. Try to take a little time and think about some great stuff about you today. I'd be happy to start - you are a very caring, very talented woman who also is a great mom.

I try once a week to have a round table at dinner where everyone says something they like about everyone - 1 person at a time. So we start say with Claire and everyone goes around the table and says something that is great about her - including her! It has made a big difference - maybe trying that would help you out of your funk - even a little????

Thank you all so much, I knew you gals would help me feel better

I've just been having some depression issues, that my doctor keeps blowing off, and I think making an ass of myself today in front of DH (we've been together 12 years, but generally, he doesn't SEE my stupid moments LOL) just kind of was like the straw that broke the camel's back. I have been putting on a very brave face around him for the past few months, but I just felt so vunerable and weak, something I don't like to see in myself.

Thank you all, I don't know what I'm going to do about the underlying problem, but the butt/elbow, well, I'll just prop it up and keep on scrappin! LOL

I can make you feel better!
Wednesday, I was out walking in the morning (still dark out and the high schoolers were getting on to the busses), and I tripped on a bump in the sidewalk. I could not recover my balance and I ended up falling and splayed out on the sidewalk. I managed to bruise one knee, scrape up the other knee, rip up my left thumb a bit, scuff my chin and rip up my upper lip (but somehow my Zune player that was in my hand was left intact). Of course I was bleeding all over the place. I am terribly clutzy - which is why no one at work even asked or suggested that I was hit by my husband when they saw my huge split lip, they just assumed I did something to myself again.
To make matters worse, I went to the house whose sidewalk I fell in front of (they did not see it happen) and their lights were on and their door was open. The father came to the door when I approached and I asked if I may use their phone - he said "No!" and slammed the door in my face. Nice, huh? (I totally understand not letting me in, but he couldn't hand a phone outside for me to call for help?) I literally cried the entire 15 minute walk/limp home - so I totally know how you felt.
In the last 3 years, I've managed to break 5 fingers at the same time closing a garage door, slice open a finger trying to get brown sugar out, and bruised and injured myself countless other times I've fallen up or down stairs or even just walking into a wall. So you're not that clutzy, trust me....

Aww, HUGS Jamie! You are NOT clumsy or DUMB... a fall can happen to anyone. Especially if you are carrying something or are distracted. Its easy to do!
