I just dropped our puppy off to get her hair chopped off! And I'm sad!!! It's so quiet without her bumbling around the house- or outside barking... and when I go to pick her up, her crazy long hair will be gone! :( I'm sorta sad about that- but relieved at the same time! She's been matting up, even with me brushing her twice a week, and she's going thru the awful stage of losing her puppy hair and winter coat, while her adult coat is growing in, so the cut is definitely needed. But Old English Sheepdogs don't look like OES's when they're cut down, so I'm sad! :(

***Ok, I have pictures!***

She looks so tiny now!!! Well, tall but skinny, I tell ya! she looked FAT before! lol! I used to call her Big Butt! Can't anymore, cuz my butt is a lot bigger! lol!!!! :p

She's been one cold girl today though, with this rainy weather! She's been curled up on an old blanket sleeping! I miss her crazy fur but I'm glad I don't have to brush it!!!!

Well, the good news is, you didn't drop the puppy. That's what I thought you were sad about when I saw it at first glance. :)

Ugh, I know all too well about the shedding puppy AND winter fur... we have what the kids call "Greta Tumbleweeds" all over the place LOL!

Don't forget to give us some pics of the freshly coiffed pooch! :D

I'll make a before and after page! She's not even gonna look like the same doggie!
Did I mention I'm soooo sad!?!? :( But at least she won't need crazy grooming this summer! Woohoo!

I didn't know you had an OES!!! We had one when I was a kid, I LOVED that dog. He was my mom's therapy. She brushed him an hour every day, and a full 8 hours on the weekend usually, but she loved it. We never got him shaved, he just went to the groomers once a month or so for a bath and a trim.

Are you shaving her? Are you keeping her shaved for the summer?

I have an Aussie that sheds his coat like a madman....wish I could get him shaved lol

Pups are so sweet..

We're having her shaved down to about 3/4". And we're going to do it again in July, too. I figure I won't have to do extensive grooming on her during the end of my pregnancy and after having a c-section (it'll also get all that hair out of the way for her recovery from being spayed :( ) We'll let her hair grow out in the fall so she'll be able to play out in the snow (which she loves!) during winter, too! Then next spring, we'll probably shave her down again and continue to do it that way!

I love OES and want one sooo bad. They are one of my favorite dogs. We almost bought one like a year or two ago. I kinda wish we had but Im not so sure my cats would like that LOL. Im also not really to sure how well the would do with the heat in FLorida. Im sure he will like not having all the fur for a little while too though and it means alot less work in grooming so it gives you more time to actually play with him and take loads of pictures :-)

Oh! I picked her up a couple hours ago and she looks sooo different! The only way I can tell it's her, is by her eyes! (She's wall-eyed, and has one blue eye & one brown eye!)
I tried taking some pics of her, but the flash is reflecting off her fur way too much to make good photos- so I'll be taking some pictures of her tomorrow that I'll post. She looks so small now! lol! She's still cute, but looks like a totally different doggie!

LOL, I know what you mean! I have a Newfie that I keep trimmed down to about 1 inch because I am unable to keep her brushed out the way I should, without keeping her trimmed her fur gets soooo long and the tumbleweeds she creates are just incredible. I swear I could collect it all and have a sweater made out of it, lol!!

wow...that is one tiny dog after all the hair is gone! I had no idea they looked like that under all that hair! ummm are you SURE it's the same dog??
