I'm so glad I scrap!!

When Marcus was little and I was very pregnant with Jamesen, we moved to Kentucky where I met one of my dearest friends. She had a daughter just a few months older than Marcus and got pregnant right before I had Jamesen. We both moved away right after she had her son, but kept in touch through facebook. Fast forward 3 years and we just happened to move to the same state they were living in again! (though they're two hours away from us and on the other side of the mountain range).

Anyway, we get to see each other about every 6 months now that we're in the same state. They came over yesterday and she posted a pic she took of our kids, so I went digging into my pics to try and find some of the ones from when our kids were tiny and couldn't find any. I even went looking in all of my old scrapbook pages from around that time. Then I remembered that one of my first EHD's got a virus and started corrupting all of my files. To find the pics, I had to go into Marcus' scrapbook. THANK GOODNESS I had the pics scrapped and the page printed before the virus. I would be so sad if I didn't have a copy of these adorable pics.

I scanned half the page in. these are from 2009:

Awww...so nice that you're still getting together. I'm glad you didn't lose them. That's one of the reasons I print all my pages. Now, with online backup, I'm less worried about losing things, but when I started scrapping my 2 backups were an EHD (that I went months without hooking up) and the pages that I printed at home every couple of weeks.

Yeah I have online backup now because I was so paranoid of my EHD crapping out on me and losing everything.

Aww! And they've gotten so big! I'm honestly sad for mommies who don't have scrapbooks full of pics and stories of their children.

My kids pull out their scrapbooks from when they were toddlers or in K all the time to show friends. I realize that I need to print all the digital pages I have before something disastrous happens. Kids grow up so fast and being able to look back is more of a joy than I ever expected it to be. I'm so glad I scrap too!

I dropped an EHD once, lost all precious files. Now I backup redundantly at multiple places. Learned my lesson the hard way!

I'm glad you found the pictures! I print books irregularly (though at least I have double back-ups of all my images and scrapbook pages). I'm hoping this will be the year I get into a good scrapping routine.

Having moved a few times, I know how special those best friend pics are! Thanks for sharing... and on the topic of printing, I'm in "get my 2014 book done so I can print it" mode!! :)
