DH and I are planning for when he gets home. Yay! Anyway, since he's an officer and like "in charge" and all, he has to stay down at Camp Shelby for up to 10 days after they get back to MS while they demob. It's about 2 hours south of here...so the problem was me wanting to be down there with him and all but definitely not being able to afford a hotel room for 2 weeks..(nor could my sanity survive that with 2 small children lol). (he can stay with us off base..just has to be there during the day)
So anyway, Camp Shelby is this HUGE base over several acres and a lot of it is wooded..a lot of it is not what you'd expect to see in a military base. Well, they have billeting places for officers to use and they have about 10 cabins that sit alongside a lake on the base. We've stayed in them before and they're really nice and really cheap for officers..20 bucks a night!. So anyway, long story short..he's pretty sure he's going to be able to reserve one of the cabins for us to stay in the 2 weeks after he gets back to MS!! I'm so glad b/c I thought we were just going to be able to stay with him a couple of days and then come home until he was through.
So yay! Just crossing my fingers now that he gets one of the cabins, but it shouldn't be a problem...It'll be so fun too b/c they're really nice big cabins...living/dining/bath/ 2 bedrooms and a big kitchen. No internet though
I might go into withdrawels lol
