I'm sad today...

because I have to get rid of my kitty... :(. I finally figured out for SURE that she is the trigger of all my itchy spots that have been breaking out for almost a month now. I've been to the doctor twice, and he assured me that it wasn't an allergic reaction to anything, but maybe some dry weather excema (even though he admitted that my skin wasn't dry so how peculiar ). He gave me another prescription for something or other and told me to only have warm baths/showers, pat dry, use lots of moisturizer, etc.

Well, the next day after all this, we left for Bree's house, and I decided to just wait and see, because I had a feeling it was the kitten. I was breaking out in at least 10 new spots a day and they were SO itchy they'd bleed because I scratched them so hard and so long. Anyways, I got to Bree's and I stopped itching. I was there for 1 week and I didn't get even one spot! And I didn't itch at all... pure heaven I tell you!

So we got home last night. Within half an hour I was itching all over. And I've got 3 spots this morning. So I'm super sad, cause I looooove my kitty! I don't want to give her away! But I know I have to because I can't live with the allergy....

Oh Jaedyn I am so sorry, its hard to lose a pet, even when theres a good reason for it. Big hugs!

Jae, have you had a cat before with no problems? It could be that your kitty just needs a bath. You can either get her groomed or give her a dry bath with dry shampoo and see if that helps.

I'm allergic to the kitty but I just deal with it ^_^ have you tried any otc allergy things? my brother is wicked allergic to cats (like breathing wise to the max) and he just takes his pills & his inhaler (he lives w/ his GF who has a cat).

Hmm, I'll have to get her bathed... maybe that will help...

I did use some Benedryl, but it didn't really help at all, plus they were expensive here in town where I live ($5.75 for 12), and would only last 2 days. As much as I love my cat, I can't justify paying $86.25/month just to keep her, kwim?

I'm really allergic to cats too, but we have a kitty who lives in our garage. She has her own little door to get in and out and the food and water is in the garage. My family gives her loves all the time, I just can't :(
