It is not Obama that I am afraid of. It is the total partisan control. It is Congress, Senate, and the Presidency. So, as Darcy pointed out, we can reappoint Congress in 2 years and maybe restore a tiny bit of balance to this heavily tipped scale.
Paula, my love,
It is apparent that you read my post ( and seriously? when did I become quotable?) And I agree with you wholeheartedly. But now it is time to read my siggy.
That is all.
LOL I loved that comment - so I went with it! LOL
well the democrats are seriously in charge now: the senate, the house and now our president. i can't wait to see this change they speak of. there's only one direction the finger can point now.
Well, this thread is longer than the other thread, so I'm not sure how a conclusion can be drawn that the other thread represents the majority. Regardless, I think all voices are being heard and respected here and, in my mind, that is what makes this a wonderful community. I'm sorry you're upset about the election results and upset that some of us are happy about them, but it would be a real shame if you let that stop you from participating in this community and continuing to be a customer.I just dont know if I want to be part of this site anymore. I saw on the other thread that the majority of the people are happy with this election. My goodness who could love the outcome????? I basically lurk here but was going to start jumping in and become part of this site because I love the store, but I think I have bought my last item. And over the past few months I have spent alot of money. I hope I have not offended anyone it is not my intentions but everyone deserves a voice right?
I am sickened by the outcome...literally sick to my stomach. My only consolation is that my state and all the states surrounding me were wholeheartedly for McCain...at least I still live in an area of the country where conservative standards are upheld.
America made the wrong choice yesterday...and now we'll all suffer the consequences. It saddens me that my husband serves this country, went to war for this country, loves this country and this is the thanks this country shows him and all our service men. It's really a sad day. For the first time in my life I will have ZERO respect for the leader of our nation. ZERO. And that is sad.
I don't mean to sound harsh..this has just really affected me..probably worse b/c I'm pregnant and DH is deployed, but there it is. I'm devastated over this election.
ETA: But thank goodness it's over and now I'm going to try to NOT think about it any more..time to focus on getting this baby here happy and healthy and seeing my sweet hubby again when she's born.

He will also be my husband's boss (in a long shot kind of way, but the Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces, so, yeah...)
AwwwYes, I am on the same depression train as you....my 11 year old actually cried last night.
That being said...I'm a bit worried about our military...when Clinton was in office he shut down bases (my bil's was one of them...they had to move out of town to another base) and reduced the size of our military...and then sent us off to war. I'm hoping we don't have a repeat of this...I think we need a strong strong military to keep our country free. Is anyone else concerned about this? Please ease my fears...maybe there is something I don't know??
I wish I could ease your fears but I'm also terrified at the thought that we now have such a weak president..who's never served A DAY of his life in the military,as the commander in chief of our armed forces. This is also a man who is williing to sit down and talk with terrorist leaders. Frankly it scares the crapola out of me and I just pray that there will be SOMEONE arround him that will advise him of what to do in case of another 9/11 (which I feel like our chances for increased a lot yesterday). I sure don't have any faith in any decision obama would make in case of an emergency like that.
Honestly Sharon, I think we have to wait and see what will happen with the military. And, with so many of the other issues.
Campaign rhetoric is one thing, taking action on that rhetoric is another thing entirely.

You know what, last night & even some this morning, I've been scared! But, I just thought about something! It doesn't matter who won last night, my God is bigger than both of them...He is the one that's in total control, not them! This wouldn't have happened if it weren't part of His perfect plan! So, we lived through Clinton, we can live through Obama. If not, I know where I'm goin when I die!So, I'm not as scared when I think about it that way!
Plus, I have a brother who is a missionary in Mexico, he'd love it if we came & helped them for the next 4 years! HAHA!![]()
