though I wasn't gone for long anyway :p Tim is a genius and fixed it all up. He got EVERYTHING, I lost nothing wOOt! Every single file was still there right down to my new purchases from yesterday.

He had an extra 250 gig EHD lying around (only a computer guy would...) so he took the HD out of it, opened up my laptop and did surgery. It's a smaller HD than what my laptop *had* in it...but I was only using about 150 gigs so the 250 will work just fine.

I still think Parker had something to do with the problem, but that point is moot so it doesn't matter.

I will be spending all day reinstalling programs, resetting bookmarks and stuff. I do miss my cookies :p

I had to go to gmail to gather the emails that will need to go back into my Thunderbird...there were 12,000 saved on the server. :blink:

So yeah, it's a good day ;)
 
thats good they got it all. my laptops hard drive died on me about 2 weeks ago. i have a new laptop but so far DH hasn't tried to get my stuff off the old one. i had ALOT. i don't have enough room to put it it all on here so i'm getting an external hard drive next month. i really hope all my files can be rescued!
 
WOOT! Glad to hear you didn't lose anything! That is FAB! Reminds me that I need to clean up my little EHD today so I can back up to my big one- and I need to back up all my LO's to disc- yikes!!! :blink:
 
great news!!! So.........what are you going to do about Parker to make sure nothing happens in the future???

I'm just going to have to STOP walking away without taking it with me/sitting on top of ent. ctr. etc. I had been negligent and he is REALLY rambunctious. Tab and I had a long discussion about Parker proofing the main room last night. We spend all our time in the main room, and Parker proofing is way different than babyproofing. Of the six kids I've been intimately acquainted with...my 3 and Tab's 3, Parker is by FAR the most...active/ornery/rambunctious/brave/temper-ey of them all. Everyone who meets him agrees. He's REALLY sweet and was such a wonderful baby, but he is a HUGE handful. It has thrown me for a loop b/c I thought raising baby 3 would be similar to babies one and two. Not hardly!
 
Parker sounds like my Ryleigh..she broke the baby mold lol I used to say if she'd been first she'd be the only..but since we've had a baby since her I can't really say that anymore.

Glad you got it fixed though woot!
