it's a friggin blizzard outside and dennis has to be to work at 1 this afternoon. you can't even see 10 feet in front of you, the wind is whipping around at some insane speed. there is thick ice on the pavement...and yet...he's going in. he's a manager at best buy for pete's sake...not a friggin fireman. he called and his boss said, "ya, it's bad, but i made it in". what a douche bag. school is cancelled.

GET A FRIGGIN CLUE.

i'm super worried. and pissed. and about to pull my hair out. :cursing:

*insert several swear words here followed by foot stomping and crying*

Glad to know his manager is willing to risk life and limb to make it in.... a good manager wouldnt risk it to have employees come in. If the weather is that bad, who is gonna be shoppin there anyways?!

That is super stupid. I doubt the store is going to be busy. I am sending some safe driving vibes his way.

(hugs) Lizzy

Awww, Lizzy! I'm so sorry! His boss sounds like such a jerk! He should definitely not be endangering his employees. If he wants to put himself at risk, fine, but don't expect others to do that.

his boss apparently doesn't give a flying frick about human life. i swear i fear for his life right now. this sounds so friggin dramatic, but it's *that* bad out.

i'm so tired of dennis being a pushover too...it's his fault. he continually lets me down in this area.

please send safe roads/driving prayers.

((((hugs))) Lizzy. Can you call the road condition people and see if they have an advisory out? Maybe that would make sense to DH and to his boss?

good for him! I am glad he changed his mind. It is too bad he had to even go out in the first place.

Good thing he came back, that's insane!!!!

DH is a cop, and we get idiots riding around in blizzards all the time. They get stuck on the highways, even after they have sent out advisaries, and want the cops to go rescue them. Tony got called out one night, and he said, listen, I can't get there, there's just no way. They told him he had to try, had to try to go and rescue these morons that just HAD to be somewhere during that weather.

He left the house, and put the cruiser in the ditch about 20 feet down the road from the house, it was that bad out.

Some people don't have a damn clue.

What a friggin a$$! I hope your DH makes it to work safe!! I don't blame you for being ticked and worried!!

I hate when the bosses are like that!! sooo stupid!! Never had to deal with blizzard conditions personally but I have had my husband have to leave for work with evacuations ordered for wildfires and hurricanes and he takes the only car we own to do it because his boss said he had to come to work.

Wow - that is so awful.... I know how you feel though. When we were in S FL, we had that same situation with a hurricane or two. My husband worked for a car dealership... it was blowing 75mph (at that point emergency vehicles won't even respond to 911 calls), and they wanted him to come in!?!?!?!? Ummmm - WHAT???? As if anyone in their right mind would attempt to take their car in for repair during a hurricane! He basically told them to stick it! And would call in when the storm died down. It didn't die down... they called him an hour later and said they were going home! I swear - I don't know what people are thinking sometimes! DRIVES ME INSANE!

Hope he got their safely and gets home safely, as well!
Be careful!

I totally believe you Lizzy, I don't think you are being over-dramatic. I live on the prairies, and we get several bad snowstorms each winter. The worst one in over 50 years hit us 2 years ago, and you litereally could not see 10 feet in front of the car. The police were urging everyone to get home or somewhere safe and just get the hell off the roads. People were in the ditches everywhere, and a few even died.

I don't blame you for being freaked AND freaking out. I know I'd be doing the same!! I HATE when DH is out there in bad weather trying to get home!

oh my gosh shana!! what morons!! i swear...get a grip people.

thanks for all the love ladies. it felt good to vent. so anywho...he got home safe and then i made him shovel the driveway. have you *seen* my driveway?!

LOL!!!

Good for you Lizzy!! Make him earn his keep! :o)

I can't believe that they wouldn't excuse him for the weather! I worked in a casino and that was just about the only thing they'd excuse us for

losers, i tell you!! he basically called and ended up saying...ya...there are cars on the side of the road everywhere, i can't risk it so i'm going home.

i was glad he did. :)
