So yesterday, on my way to work and back again I got stopped no less than 5 times by the police. In the morning, they just had a quick look in the car, but in the afternoon they looked in the boot too. They checked every single car that drove in our area from before 7.30 in the morning until midnight. In the morning I thought maybe someone had escaped from the high security bit of the mental hospital down the road (where they put the people who are too dangerous to be in prison), but when they started checking the boots too I thought maybe there was something else. It was done by armed police - and the police here is not usually armed unless they have a good reason. Scary! I made sure I locked the doors before bed last night - I guess it's times like these that having an SO that works away from home is not a good thing! They still won't say what they were looking for, although the police said it was not dangerous to be in the area. I did not get a lot of sleep last night - and I made the cat spend the night outside as he makes so much noise during the night.. My boss thinks maybe it's a kidnapping case or something, but it's kind of worrying not knowing. Things like this never happen around here - it's a really quiet, rural area.

the police wont tell you whats going on? We live in a rural area and about a year ago there were police everywhere in our neighborhood and a helicopter circling overhead and I called the non-emergency line and they told me exactly what was going on and that they did not believe there was any danger. They are always pretty honest when there is something going on as well that we could just go out and ask one of the deputies. One thing though you should think about which would most likely let you sleep a little easier is if tehre was a person they were looking for that person is most likely a long long way from where you are with such a large coverage of police searching. They arent likely to stick around if they have not been caught yet.

We live in Norway. It says in the local paper that they still won't say what it was about, and that that they asked people to be understanding. Wierd. There was no controls this morning though, so I guess they either found whatever it was they were looking for, or they gave up. They did say that there was noone dangerous had escaped though (I remember that happening once when I was little, someone escaped from the high security hospital, but everyone knew about it then). I'm not so worried anymore, more nosy now!

soo weird...

2 nights ago around 11 this helicopter was circling right over where we lived with a spotlight...it was kinda freaking me out so DH called the non-emergency line and the county said the helicopter was theirs and there was no reason to be alarmed. They wouldn't tell us exactly what was going on though. I found out yesterday though it was a missing person. Not sure if it was a kidnap or just a runaway but it was loud and scary.
