If you're out of shape...get a trampoline!

Holy crap! I went outside with the kids yesterday, to kick the ball around, play a bit of soccer and catch, and somehow got talked into jumping on the trampoline. I was on it for about 30 min, and I'm in so much pain today! That is one wicked work out! Every muscle in my leg is burning, which is good, since I need to lose some weight, but I never imagined it would be such a good work out! LOL

I get sick on trampolines! LOL!

Sorry you are sore today Jamie but just think of all those calories you burned! ;)

No joke! My parents have one of them at their house and L.J. always wants me to jump on it with him. I get about 15 minutes in and I am BEAT. Meanwhile, he could jump for days. LOL

I'm I the only one that has the little "mommy has had to many babies and pees herself just a little every time she jumps on the trampoline" syndrome!?!?! :o

Tramps are taboo in our family - my kids aren't allowed on them. My youngest broke his leg when he was 4 on one (no, he didn't fall off, got double-bounced by another child much bigger than him - not intentionally of course) and had a cast from hip to toe. And my oldest broke his hand (same reason and he wasn't supposed to be on it in the first place!) when he was 13. Both of these occurred at a friend's/family's house.

When we took our 3 yo into the ER, the nurse told us tramps are "evil" because they see so many injuries from them. I won't even tell you what the orthopedic surgeon said.

Just be careful!!!! You should only bounce with people who weigh the same as you or bounce alone. Same with kids. If the tramp is coming UP from someone bigger jumping on it, and a child is on their way down, that's when it can impact them too forcefully and injure them.

*thus ends my public health announcement for today* :)

we had one and we loved it. it blew away when the tornadoes came through and we had strong winds :( we are hoping to get one in the spring though :) they are good for a good workout :)

We had one too and um, we'll just say too many adults at once is not good for them. Broke my little one's hearts when they couldn't jump. I'm looking into another for Christmas maybe :) :) Mostly because I LOVE it and I'll jump and really need the exercise anyway.

seriously!!! or practice handstands with your 10 year old! my gluteus maximus (grande maximus :D) is burning today!! talk about using muscles you didn't know existed...LOL!!

yep i know they are really good for exercise but also really good for injuries. I wont have one because I know my kids would be tempted to jump more then one at a time and therefore increase the risk of injury.

My next door neighbors had one when we were smaller and we loved it and in the summer time we used it to lay out in the sun on. lol

I broke my leg on a trampoline about 10 years ago and had to have surgey (still have a plate and screws)...Three of us were jumping and I got out of sync, so when I came down, the tramp was coming up, there was no tension and my leg snapped - YIKES:)

The kids love them though and just like everything else, they can be dangerous - I swear we have sooo many kids in the neighborhood who have broken their arms on the monkey bars - who knew! :)

I was just going to post this!!! ROFL I got on ours with my girls a couple weeks ago and realized that it's not the place to be if you've got a weak bladder. :o I didn't stay on long enough for my muscles to hurt. LOL
