I can't find it.. I need it for tomorrow to register him @ the new kindergarten.. this was the second copy.. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I had it with mine.. and it isn't there.. AGAIN. this is the same thing that happened last time...

*bangs head against wall repeatedly*
 
Hmmm...
How about your jewelry box?
Or your underwear/sock drawer?
Or the cabinet where your telephone book is?
Or his baby scrapbook (like the one where you're supposed to write down all the stuff they did first, etc. etc. - I didn't do one, but most moms do)?
How about in the bedside table?
Or in the top of his closet?
What about his sock drawer or bottom drawer?

Just a few suggestions of places I might look first.

I've found my kids' in my tax folder before... along with their social security cards because I needed their numbers to file my taxes. However if you had it to register him before, maybe it is with the paperwork that school gave you?
 
If you find his...and Brian's and Tony's are with it...would you please send them to me? I have 2 copies PLUS a wallet sized card (which doesn't surprise me that that is missing...I have changed purses so many times)....but generally they are kept in the lock box. I remember taking 1 copy out to mail in with our CDIB (Certificate Degree Indian Blood card)...but I know I never sent it in...so one copy is hiding with that form...but for the likes of me I don't know why the 2nd copy isn't in there.

Did you have to have it for 1) income tax; 2) divorce papers to give to lawyer; 3) medical insurance??? Just ideas...
 
Maybe your Connor's BC and *my* Connor's BC ran off to Tiujana together. Cuz we lost Little C's birth certificate too!! Argh!! So frustrating, huh?

Just an FYI: they won't vote Ce off the island if you don't have the BC at registration. In fact, only about 50% of our parents have their kids' BC at the time of registation. The rest bring in it later.

I handle the incoming and outgoing students for our entire middle school and more often than not they don't have their birth certificate...and even if they do we are only allowed to visualize it and fill out a form saying we saw it. In WI we are not allowed to keep copies of the BC anymore...

Hopefully you've found it! I keep Eric's in our safe...
 
I would imagine it is hiding with every important piece of paper I have ever recieved...

We had a nightmare with our oldest daughter, she is born in the UK, but she is Norwegian. One week before we were going on holiday I realised her passport was missing (after we had moved to Norway) and of course I couldn't find her birth certificate. For some reason she wasn't registered properly in the people's register (I probably lost another form), so the police refused to issue a passport until they had seen the full birth certificate (I had the version without the parents name on, but not the long one). Panic ensued, the council in England refused to fax or e-mail the certificate over, even after speaking to the police people, saying it had to get mailed in the post and that it would take at least two weeks. I was in tears, thinking we could forget about the holiday, until the nice policeman phoned up the Norwegian Embassy in London, where she got her other passport, and it turned out they still had a copy of the birth certificate, and they faxed it over.

I ordered two more copies from the UK, and now I keep one at my parent's house as a backup:) I hope you find yours!
 
sigh.. no luck. LOL.. I'm so annoyed that I've lost both copies now!! The original kindergarten does have a copy of it.. butk whatever. Technically the school department didn't tell me I needed his birth certificate :p so I can play dumb LOL
 
If you have already shown it to someone at the school or at a school and htey have a copy they will just need to get it from the other school. You might be able to order one online too...I am pretty sure we can here but not sure how long it takes to get it. I think a copy here is only like 3 dollars.
 
Do you live in the city he was born? I went to the Health Department (at least that was the building, probably not the office) and got one that day for $15. It's a pain if you are in a different state though because then you have to send off for it.

Yes, or the same county? I have had to get a copy at the county recorder's office. It was about $10, but I was able to walk away with a copy with the seal.
 
Man you ladies got off cheap!!! The State of Ohio charges $30 bucks for BC!!! :blink: I had to replace all 3 of my Ohio born kids BC about 3 years ago...that hurt writing that check!!!! :thumbdown:

However the State of PA rocks.......when G was born a year ago I got one in the mail about 2 weeks after he was born........FREE!!!!

Not sure if you found it or not La but I know you got him registered, so YAY!!!!.......Of course it will turn up now !!! :D :D
