Just FYI, this weekend it was -46 celsius (thats -50.8 F)... and expected to remain that way until tomorrow.

I want to be in the Dominican, lol!

Yeah, I hear ya!! It was pretty darn close to that here, too. The lowest I saw our thermometer dip was -35 yesterday morning, but it doesn't figure out the wind chill, which DEFINITELY made it alot colder, lol. Brrrrr.

what?!?!?!?!!? I can't even imagine that weather! How do you survive? And here I'm so sad that the high is like 35 today! holy moly!

Dang that is cold, hope you stay nice & toasty inside!

It's about 5 degrees (F) here this morning, but I'm sure it's much colder with the windchill factored in! There was even frost around the frame on the INSIDE of our sliding glass door this morning! I can't really remember ever seeing that happen in our house before!

we just had some rain last night, which turned into sleet this morning (i woke up hearing it hit the house) School had a 2 hour delay because i'm assuming its slippery. the temp is like 15 degrees, windchill is like around 6 degrees, lol. holy crap!! i went get something out of my car and the door was frozen. had to pull pretty hard to get it open. i 'm going to need milk, and i will definitely have to let the poor car warm up. poor thing, wish i had a garage!

oh wow, that is cold Jae! poor girl! I hate the cold...... here its only -2 degrees (C) ... so warm for you.... and I feel that its cold

DH works with a guy who just moved here from Jamaica...it's his first winter up here and he thought it was cold when it was still hovering between 0 and -10, lol. DH was making fun of him. I'm kinda wondering whether he regrets marrying a Canadian and moving up here now...lmao!

Another school district in our area had a two hour delay this morning too, but it was due to the school buses. I guess it was so cold they had trouble getting the buses started! But the district we live in (where the girls go to school) and the district my DH teaches in had no delays this morning unfortunately. Two extra hours to get up & around this morning would have been nice!

I forget how cold it is, but if it stays at or below a certain temperature for an extended amount of time, diesel buses can't run.

Oh that poor guy!!! He's going to be thinking he's going to freeze to death!! Thats a mean way to get climatized, lol!

LOL, my hubby always wants us to move to canada, but in winter I think this would be to cold for me :-) I can imagine how he feels! For a Jamaician its already cold here in germany

LOL, they CAN...we never get days off for cold weather up here, and it can get DANG cold, obviously. The drivers just need to make sure that their buses are kept plugged in, I think.

Kristin and I are currently at -30*C (-40*C with the windchill) {-20*F/-36*F w/ wc}.

My car was so frozen this morning, the heater wouldn't kick on, the windows couldn't be scraped clear ... I drove to work with a little patch clear on the windshield - totally illegal, I know. It is currently sitting in the shop here at work defrosting, with the heat cranked back there.
And strangely, Des' truck had NO frost on it this morning, unlike my car that was literally frozen solid (but it has no winter tires on it yet, so I am not allowed to drive it until they get put on this week).

Wow. Our average this week is going to be 80. I always wish it was cooler here but I couldn't deal with -50F!

I always say that if you don't have to plug your vehicle in during the winter you don't really know what cold is :)

As long as you don't ask if we live in igloos and use dog sleds for transportation, if we have electricity and eat whale blubber... we're golden :)!

Jade, I know someone who lives in the northernmost city in Alberta, a mining town i think? Are you up in that area?

Ya'll are speaking a foreign language to me.

It's cold when the temp drops below 70!!!!
