My husband is taking our two boys to their first soccer game tonight. I asked him if he would take the Canon, to which he said no. He said he would be willing to take the smaller waterproof camera we have or I suggested my iphone. A few hours later, I mentioned it again, and he said, "Why am I taking a camera at all? Our friends (that they are sitting with) have iphones, and so does my dad". My response - "fine" :cursing: Is it really too much to ask for 5 or 10 pictures, esp. when the camera will fit in his pocket???
 
Oh men... they can just be so fickle sometimes. That's when you should reply "why am I even making dinner tonight... when McDonalds is making dinner too?". Tell him no piccys, no dinner..... lol

My DH won't take the camera, either. He's terrified of my dSLR (mainly because he know I'd kill him if anything happened to it). I can sometimes get him to take the P&S, but usually it's just phone pics, if anything.
 
My DS does the same thing a lot of the time. Last year when he took DS to his 1st baseball game I told him the camera (P&S) was non-negotiable and he humored me. Tonight he surprised me, though. They were at the Nationals/Mets game, and I was planning to take 1 picture before they left and then let it go if he didn't want to take the camera. He said yes to taking it with no pushing on my part. Not sure yet if he actually used it, but I can hope!
 
My dh use to do this to me all the time, No why do you want so many photos.

Months later that he's gotten use to his droid phone he uses it all the time and he bought himself a point and shoot. I almost passed out when he showed me his new purchase. I had to pause and ask myself who is this guy? LOL Now he snaps pics of stuff he usually wouldn't.
 
Aw man, that's a bummer! I know how that feels! My DH had no interest, either. Then he went out to the Sony store one day and picked out a new camera for this vacation (Sony RX100... which I am in LOVE WITH), and now he's snapping pictures like crazy!!! I think it has something to do with it feeling like it's HIS camera, for him... not just for my hobby? Not sure, but I'm liking his new interest in snapping photos. I hope it lasts!
 
lucky for me all of my kids share my photo/camera love, so even if my DH won't take them, they will take the little P&S and take their own!
 
My hubby is actually great about this... We don't have kids, but when I'm working on a project and want a picture of his day, he will happily snap one for me. He actually carries my old Rebel around in his pick up a lot of the time.
 
Oh man I'd be annoyed!! I think my dh would be willing to take the camera, but he would most likely "forget" to snap any photos LOL. I always have to go anywhere to guarantee I'm going to get pics.
 
If my Dh is taking the grandkids out on their own, he will take the camera - but only if I ask, and only if I set everything up for him before he goes on auto, so he can just point and shoot.

I also have to set the GPS up for wherever he is going. Set the TV recorder. Retune his car radio .. etc etc :)

It amazes me that he has taken to a kindle - although he has no idea how to get new books :)
 
My husband will take the camera, but only because he got one from work when they upgraded. Our old point and shoot was pink, lol, because it was mine. He won't even hold my Rebel for fear of breaking it. ;)
 
I guess I'm lucky. My husband is a professional photographer, so he's the one dragging us out of bed at 4 in the morning to get "just the right light" on our vacations LOL
 
lol! My dh was the same way till he grabbed my Nikon to take a pic of a bird's nest with eggs in it that he found doing yardwork and was AMAZED at the results.
 
luckily my DH likes to take pics so if he doesnt take his little canon p-n-s he will take pics with his iphone. :)
 
Jeff use to be like that but he's getting better at it now that we have pretty good phones. I've caught him saying "Hold on let me get a pic of that so I have one on my phone."
 
Mine might take the camera but his method of photo taking with my D3100 is to not look through the viewfinder, just point the camera in the general direction of the action and then hold the shutter button down for a minute, giving me 53 photos of the same random space that might have part of a kid's body in it if I am lucky. And heaven help me if I left it in M or A mode & didn't set it back to Auto. Then they are all blurry. I've explained how to turn the view screen on but it's 'too complicated'.

I have a cheap P&S with a decent zoom I'd give him but he sticks it in his pocket with his keys & doesn't use the case so its get scratched up.
