I think my EHD is dying

Arg!

I was scrapping this afternoon just fine. I use the EHD mostly for backups, so everything on it is somewhere else (disc or mine or Tony's hard drives) I *think*.

If I can manage to get it to work, I'm going to check to make sure I actually do have everything somewhere else. It's not the USB, because it freaked out on my laptop this afternoon, and I'm on my PC now, trying to get it to work, with the same problems. Grrrrr.

Please cross fingers I have everything saved elsewhere, or I'll cry.

Ugh, that so stinky! I had that happen within the first couple of months after I purchased my EHD, now I only plug it in and make transfers once a month because I'm so paranoid. Good luck, I hope you are able to keep everything recovered. I remember you saying on a thread a while back to always double check your CDs too because they don't always transfer and I'm so glad I took your advice because I found one or two that didn't work! ... so thanks for that!

Oh no! I hope you can save it...

I have 2 EHD's one is my backup so hopefully if one of them crashes I'll be okay...the 2nd one automatically backs up any new stuff from the 1st one daily.

Well, we still can't get it to work on my computer, my laptop or DH's computer. There is only one folder that is missing and not on any other computer/disc that we can think of, and it's a folder from an ancient computer of ours, with pics that we thought we had lost in a crash a few years ago. I don't know how it got on the EHD without being on one of our computers, but we can't find it.

Gah, I hate technology sometimes.

After waiting for it to load, it says it wants to format the drive. So I'm thinking now, it's not a cord issue. It was our backup, so I haven't lost much permanently, but now our backup is gone, so we're scrambling burning off DVDs.

Its so frusterating...mine just died (i think)and I wasn't completly backed up

Ugh! I know how you feel Jamie! Mine started acting up too and I got nervous so I bought a new one (which was fun cause it's pink!) and got everything switched over to it before it truly crapped out. Good luck with yours!
