I seriously need a massage...

When Libby got me hooked on this digi-scrapping thing, she failed to mention that my arm and shoulder would be in pain from being on the computer so much! My real job is on the computer so I'm already on it a lot...but add in the amount of hours I've been spending digi-scrapping and I'm in pain!

How do you all manage? Or am I just so out of shape that it's just me. Maybe I need to start lifting weights to strengthen my arms and shoulders. I think tonight I better read or watch the Olympics instead of scrap!

I think it's just conditioning and your arms get used to it! LOL! I've found that it helps if you don't lean on your elbow. I know that I had a very bad habit of leaning had on my mouse hand and I would rest my chin on my other hand. I got severe kinks in my neck and shoulders, so I stopped that fast!

Warning: digital scrapbooking may cause severe arm and shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, or ganglion cysts. Take in moderation.

LOL! Yeah, I actually have a cyst now on my right wrist and it is PAINFUL! It flares up when I do lots of scrapping in one week. I plan on getting a Wacom tablet to help reduce the strain on my wrist... they're supposed to help a lot.

LOL I know how you feel! I work from home on my PC all day, and I tend to lean on my left shoulder, just like Jac described. After awhile I can barely move! Of course, that was the shoulder I injured this winter too, so that doesn't help.

Night time, I lie on the couch with my laptop, to "rest" my shoulder, and that's usually when I scrap.

Yeah, that's the drawback of this addiction :(

Before becoming a SAHM my job was on the computer all day, so I guess I'm sort of used to it. Frequent stretch breaks help me.

I used to have problems with my hands and wrists while I was working (I was on the computer most of the day at work), and read everything I could to try and help try and figure out what I could do to make it better. What I found worked best for me was to try and make sure that where I was working was set up as ergonomically as possible, and that really helps. Some of the main things I've done are to use a keyboard tray to keep the keyboard down closer to my lap, and using a keyboard that is not as wide as most so that my mouse can be closer to the center of my body and I'm not having to reach way out with my arm to maneuver it...

And frequent stretch breaks always help....

Hope you feel better soon!

The funny thing with me is I sit on the couch with my laptop and watch TV while I scrap. My husband keeps telling me how bad the ergonomics are when I do that. But I never experience any pain. It is only when I set my laptop on a table and sit in a regular chair that my back and arms start hurting. So I just do it my way and ignore my husband :p

I'm with ya, I need a massage BADLY! I have a tablet at home, which helps a whole lot. I was also getting lots of shoulder, wrist and back pain and the tablet is so much easier on those areas.

LOL... I hear ya. One of these days.. I should have ce take progressive photos of me as I'm working.. I just hunch further and further over until my face is practically on the desk (haha ok no that much).
