I need something NOW!

OK, so I'm pretty sure most of you have heard me whine about having my wisdom teeth extracted nearly 2 weeks ago and the pain I've endured since then. Well, I'm complaining some more. You guys, this constant headache is going to make me insance! Seriously! I can't get any relief. It's 5:30 am and I've been up since 3:30. Here's a list of things I've tried...

-percacet
-1200 mg Ibuprophen
-1500 mg Extra Strength Tylenol
-1500 mg Excedrin Migrane
-Sominex (to try and get some deep sleep to see if that would help)

Nothing is touching it and I'm afraid I'm going to blow out my liver if I keep it up. It's making me depressed and crabby. All I want to do these days in lay in my bed. Any suggestions I haven't already tried? The mouth is SLOWLY getting better... and I say that cautiously cuz every time I think I'm on the mend, I take 2 steps backward.

Anyway, thanks for at least letting me complain.

UGH! I went in a week after the extraction and they prescribed more percacet. I should have gone in on Friday to complain some more, since I ran out of percacet on Thur, but since it wasn't really helping anyway, I figured "what's the use". Not too smart, I know. I have an appointment on monday for a cleaning... yeah right, like I'm going to let that happen... but I'm going to go in anyway and let them know what's going on. I was prepared for lots of pain... but only for a few days... not TWO WEEKS!

I would for sure contact your dentist...they should be on-call on the weekends...Maybe you have dry socket or something...uggg.
My hubby had his wisdom teeth pulled an they only hurt for about 48 hours...something isn't right!

I was gonna say dry socket. I once cracked my back tooth and it was so painful I didnt sleep for more then 30 minutes for three days until my husband got paid and we could get into the dentist. I used heating pads, (cant take percocet or really any pain pills because I am allergic to them and they make me break out in hives/have breathing problems, nausea, sweating and rapid heartbeat) I have tried cold compresses and tylenol, advil and aspirin. Have you tried some oragel nightime relief? It stays on so it stays numb. Ummm what did help me is sleeping sitting almost all the way up. Like in a recliner but not all the way reclined. I really hope you get some relief because mouth pain is the absolute worst!!

I agree, something isn't right. I had a dry socket, but it still only hurt for a week and a half or so...and not as badly as yours. Call your dentist...someone should be on call for you. Hope it feels better very soon!

That definitely doesn't sound right. My DH had his wisdom teeth out a few weeks ago and he was pretty much pain free after the first week. I'd definitely get it looked at.

When I went in 5 days ago I wanted the dentist to LOOK at the open areas... yes, they left them open, no stitches. He looked in my mouth, but didn't actually move the gum any to see if there was a problem. He said, "If you had a dry socket, you'd KNOW it". WTH?

I like that morphine drip idea... that could work!

It really doesn't sound normal for it to hurt for this long -- did he say anything about that?? Mine hurt for a couple days I guess, but 2 weeks sounds like a long time for just wisdom teeth. And if you are in this much pain, it sounds like you do "know it"!

I thought of something else...in the information I had from my dentist which I cannot find now it mentioned something about the jaw possibly being dislocated from a tooth being extracted. Maybe you should really get in to have it xayed? When I had mine done it was really sore afterwards...it bruised the whole side of my face but my recovery went something like this: I couldnt eat anything for three days, I ate soft foods for three days and then started eating with less trouble over the course of maybe a week. I was very sore but not to the point where it was unbearable like yours sounds. Seriously I would be very concerned if it doesnt ease up really soon
