I need honest opinions...

Ok, so part of my x-mas gift to my mom this year is a framed digi layout that coordinates with her newly redecorated house. I need your honest opinions, criticisms, and ideas about the layout I created before I order it and have it framed. Here it is...

What do you think about the action on the photo? Too dark and gloomy looking? What about the zipper? And does the quote look alright? Overall, do you think it looks sweet, yet elegant and classy. My mom has great taste, so I want this to be perfect.

All I would change is I would lighten the pic up just a tad..and maybe move the notebook paper down so it ends under the measuring tape. Only things I'd consider changing

I think it's nice! I'd probably make the quote a little bigger just because if it's framed it's going to be viewed from a little farther away and I'd want to make sure people could read it. But otherwise I think it's great!

I think it's gorgeous! But I agree about moving the notebook paper down (or using a longer version of it). And maybe you could add a bit more of a drop shadow to the zip to make it look a bit more dimensional?

Jenny... I think the layout is wonderfully done. I do have a question about the photo though... it looks like the older child is naked with the ribbon covering up him a little. :blush: If this is the photo that you really want to use, I might cover him over more... for the sake of his little ego. LOL

yup i agree with the above - lighten photo a tad; add more shadow to zip so it kinda matches the frame, bit bigger quote and notepaper down a tad - great thought & job on the LO

Thanks so much girls! You know how it is when you're "too close" to a project to see what it needs to be better. All of your suggestions are just what it needs and I will do exactly what you suggested! Oh, and Julie, thanks for the comment about my nakie boy. I hadn't even thought of him looking naked because I *know* that he's not in that pic, but others might think he is. I'll try and find a way to correct it some way or another. Thanks girls! I'll post the updated layout in the gallery once I fix everything!!
