I am incredibly sad. My best friend, of 28 years, is moving away :( It's not terribly far, but far enough. She is the mom of my first child (he was my practice baby), and he's about to graduate college and go have his own life. And I'm being all emo about it. I'm happy for their family as it means wonderful things for them, so I know it's just me being selfish, but I am so sad.
 
Awwww I've been there, Darcy! It's hard to say goodbye! Thankfully in this modern age, technology makes it easier than ever to stay in touch!
 
Awe. It is rough. Good thing there is so much social media and online fun to keep you connected. Sending you lots of hugs. I totally get it.
 
Our best friends still live in DC even though we moved from there 14 years ago. The good side is that when you do have a chance to get together with friends like that, it's like you were never apart.
 
Hugs Darcy. Hopefully skype and facebook will help keep you connected and as close as ever.
 
I'm sorry, Darcy! You said it isn't too far, so I hope you're still able to get together even if it isn't as often.
 
I am so sorry, Darcy! I can't imagine how hard that must be. :( I hope you two can find ways to see each other and be connected after she moves.
 
Thanks, everyone. I went and had a good cry about it. This woman is like my sister/mom, and I'm going to be so sad without her near. We talked more last night, and while her husband is moving away immediately for the new job, she's going to be staying a few extra months to finish out a committment, get the house packed and ready to sell, and so we'll be spending lots of quality, hard-working time getting it done. I appreciate all the hugs.
 
So sorry Darcy! Sending hugs! Make plans now to get together when she does move... something to look forward to.
