I have to share this picture

Yesterday I was babysitting my niece...who is 6 months old. I absolutely adore her! I'm seriously obsessed with her. lol. Anyways I take a picture of her every month to document her first year. Here is the picture I got:

We recently found out though that she is blind and has a brain condition called Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum. It breaks my heart but in my eyes she will always be perfect.

I just had to share this picture of her with all of you.

Thanks everyone.
She is always so happy. And I might sound a little bias but seriously she is the best baby in the world. She hardly ever fusses or cries. So it breaks my heart to know that she has a condition that will forever change her.

She is SO gorgeous!! it looks like she's posing in that picture!

wow - I think my cousin's baby was diagnosed with the same thing (or something very similar) just a year ago. It's an extremely rare condition.

Their little girl (Katie!) has been receiving special therapies since she was just two months old - so she's doing pretty well despite her condition. I guess the amount of the depletion (the amt of the chromosome missing) directly correlates to how pronounced the condition is.

is this it?

Regardless - enjoy that sweet baby niece!!

She is adorable...looks like she was posing for you. So sorry to hear about this...I had not even heard of this before...so glad you love "unconditionally"...you will be a wonderful influence on her life!

Thanks again everyone for all the kind words.
I'm not 100% sure on all the details about her condition. We just found out Monday about it so we as a family all have so much to learn about it.
I love her as if she were my own...and since I don't have one of my own she'll have to do for now...lol.
