I'm with the other girls, I just fit in over here better than at DST.
Plus I like that as a smaller group, we seem much more compassionate and understanding. You won't see a huge dramaific thread here, everyone stays nice (or at least civil) while still expressing their opinions. Plus I don't have traffic problems here like I do with DST. I can only deal with timing out and sloooooooooooow boards for so long, lol.

I post layouts here, MSA, SBB, and DST when I can get in. I love that SBB doesn't have a daily upload limit so I can upload more than 5 when I get behind. Since most of my stuff is hybrid I get the pics off my camera all at once (KWIM?) I also started out at SBB so it is a complete gallery.
I don't post at DST because I feel lost there. Too many fish in that sea for me

Those are QT's... same as my avi. Lauren Grier does them.. but they are out of the store right now. They're custom. Maybe she'll bring them back sometime soon.

DST has been reaaaaaaaaaaaaally slooooow lately and it's making me crazy! That is my complete gallery but I don't spend much time over there. I also feel very lost and haven't made a single friend there... it's just too big! Plus, I posted an honest review once of a photobook and kinda got eaten alive by some ladies... so I just prefer not to post threads there unless it's an ISO thread.

Let's not forget the language barrier. Most of the members barely speak english. And I have, like, zero comments on anything. I will spend half an hour posting comments and never get a single in return. I tried to delete all my layouts once and it wouldn't let me. I would abandon my gallery, but my pictures are still up there. This is the only place on the web where I have any friends. That is why the next week will be so hard for me. I will actually have to do my sociology clipping report.
P.S. Is my avi too dirty looking? sometimes I will say "I love this so much" or "this is fun" in response to a layout, then when it posts... it looks a little dirty.

Their quality is great! Shipping doesn't take too long either. You'd have to pay for an 8x10 in order to get an 8x8 since they don't do scrapbook sizes yet. I wrote to them once about it and they said they'd mention it. It's great for storage because you can download from their FTP if you ever lose all your photos and you can share your photos so your family can get the full sized photos/layouts if they'd like to print them out themselves.
I'm always a little surprised by all the negativity around DST but I think it's likely for this same reason. I've been at DST since day 1 and it was my first real digi home so it holds a special place in my heart. I think it serves the purpose it was always meant to serve - to be the hub where everyone could come together and find whatever information they needed. I will gladly take DST with all it's slowness and problems over the days of 2peas and speaking in code.
Now if they would just change the rules of the praise thread to discourage the praise hogs I'd be happy...

Well, no matter your reasons for leaving DST, know that you all are missed :wub: I never felt "in" at 2Peas, and that's why I left, but I do feel "in" at DST, maybe because I've been there since day 1 (?).
I've recently starting being more active here because this is where my girl Melissa is (and a whole lot more of my wannabe CTs), so I hope you can accept me here

I'm SO very glad to see you here. SSD is so cozy and friendly, I'm hardly EVER at DST anymore. I just like the family atmosphere here and you don't feel overlooked, ykwim? So jump in and get your tootsies wet and hang with us!!!

Me too Lizzy! I rarely go to DST. Honestly, I avoid it at all costs LOL I just post pages there for CT requirements. It's just not my favorite place to be, I like the atmosphere here better.

They didn't have those the last time I ordered! Not that it matters, since I print 6x6

I was thinking of testing them out too, lol. They had a sale on a couple weekends ago and I thought about it, but never did, because I didn't think I had enough layouts I wanted to print. Then I managed to find about 100+ layouts while trying to find 30 to print from Green Pixel Printing. I may still try them out, to compare...They didn't have those the last time I ordered! Not that it matters, since I print 6x6

The praise game is there to help you get praise on your LOs... you post your LO once and people who post after you will give you praise.... but the praise hogs will post multiple times in the same thread and sometimes post every day for several days... whenever I reach a LO in the praise game that has like 20 comments, I skip it (unless the poster is directly above me so I'm abiding by the rules).

once my layout made it to the gallery standouts thread and i had 9 or 10 generic 'great lo' and 'nice work' comments. what's the point of commenting if your not sincere? completely outside of the praise thread rant at DST, really what is the point in general of being generic?

Oh, when I play the PG I try to point out specific things I love about the LO so they know I actually LOOKED at the page. I hate drive-by comments. Once I got stuck in the game behind someone who was just posting the same EXACT comment on every page over and over. Made me angry. lol :cursing:
