Its official, I am totally obsessed with Twilight (I finally caved and bought the first book on Friday)! Oh, and I am head over heels in love with Edward!! lol

That is how i got suckered in as well. I just finished reeading the harry Potter series (don;t laugh, I am addicted to that as well lol) and I walked past a big, pretty, Twilight display in Walmart. My friends have been trying to get me to read it FOREVER and I have stayed strong but without even thinking i snatched it and threw it in my cart. Now i am really mad at myself for not buying the whole series since I am almost finished with Twilight and I NEED "New Moon" but won't have a chance to get to the store until Wednesday afternoon! How will I live? lol I called the library that is next to my office hoping i could stop today on my way home from work but both of their copies are out right now. Ugh!!!

OMG Yesss!!!! Actually, my (kind of) boyfriend right now (its complicated lol) has alot of similarites in personality to Edward. I think that is why I am so enthralled in this series, I am easily picturing myself and Schep in place of Bella dn Edward lol.
And Kristin, i think you shoould try it anyway. Yes, many of the characters are vampires and that is an integral part of the story, but the heart of the book is a love story. The rest is just character development more than anything else. its fascinating and there are all kinda of little mysteries (for lack of a better word) that keep you guessing, all revolving around the fact that they are vampires, but that isn't the MAIN IDEA of the story, IMO.
A friend of mine, one of the ones who has ben encouraging me to read Twilight, was skeptical at first just because vampires and monsters and supernatural stuff aren;t her thing at all. Recently we had a discussion and her exact words were "I don't do vampires, but Edward is one vampire I'd do in a heartbeat!" lol Ahhhhhh...so true!! lol

I caved too... my 16 year old daughter was finally reading it, and she insisted I read it, that it was less gore than Greys Anatamy LOL. And yes I agree! Anyone that has been turned away because of the vampires should go get it!

Ya know I wasn't into vampire books at all until I read the Twilight books and now I am absolutely addicted to them! I have found and read SO many great vampire series in the last few months and have a ton more on my to read list! My DH keeps joking that I'm secretly hoping to turn into one myself from all these books I'm reading lol! Then ever since my 7yo DD came home from picking out a vampire costume for Halloween (all totally her choice!) he's been joking that I'm a bad influence lol!

I'm not a vampire person either but from reading an earlier post a couple of weeks ago on this site, I went out and bought the book. I don't get a lot of chances to read so I haven't finished it yet but I'm a little more than 1/2 way thorugh it. I'm really enjoying it and will probably get the next ones as well.
I always loved Vampire stuff, ever since Interview with a Vampire. It was by chance that I read the first one and then finished the next 3 soon after. I didnt want the books to end, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE Edward. I love the last book too, which is strange because usually by the second in a series I get sick of them.
