Brodo gettin her Swerb on
to buying an iphone this week.

My ipod died right before we left for Europe (MAJOR bummer), and I've had zero success in resuscitating it. :crying:

My Blackberry is 2.5 years old, and I have issues with keeping phones longer than that, lol. I used to get them for free from a friend all the time, and that habit has kinda stuck. There's nothing wrong with my BB and I  it (it's RED  ) but I've wanted an iphone ever since they came out.

So I think I might as well spend the $199 I would've put towards a new ipod, to a new iPHONE instead.

Thoughts? LOL! Yes, I realize I'm just rambling.

Are you currently with AT&T or would you have to switch providers? If you'd have to switch, I'd highly recommend getting a prepaid phone on aT&T's network to see if you get service everyone you need to get it. We tried to switch and lost coverage at home so had to immediately switch back to verizon.

I love my iPhone too!!! I'd definitely do what Robin suggested though if you're not already an AT&T customer!

DO IT!!! I got my iPhone back in June and honestly, I don't know how I survived without one for so long. I  it.

I had to switch from Verizon to AT&T to get mine. I was really nervous about switching because I'd had AT&T a few years ago and ending up switching to Verizon but I've actually been pretty impressed this time around. You couldn't pay me to give up my iPhone and go back to Verizon right now but if they ever carry the iPhone, I may consider it. :p

I've been with Cingular since 2006, which is now AT&T, and I've had zero issues with service. I often get service in places other people don't (I always find it fascinating that some people have issues and others don't, even in the same location).

So yea, that's not an issue for me, but definitely a good idea Robin.

In that case, do it!!! Seriously, you won't regret it for even a second!!

Sweet Col! Do it! We have the Storm and the Tour here with Verizon and absolutely love em, so no iphones for us. We did try to switch a year or so ago and it didn't work out for us because of the coverage - glad it's not an issue for you guys!

I want an iphone so bad.. I told SO he had to get me one for christmas but I kinda doubt it will happen - I got a laptop for my birthday that was supposed to be for christmas too. But a girl can dream, right? I fluttered my eyelashes a lot when I asked;)

SO doesn't see the point, he keeps asking what the iphone can do that my phone won't - a lot actually, but nothing he thinks is important. What he doesn't realise though is that you can't put a price on awesomeness.

So, GO GET YOUR iPHONE!!

Ok...you HAVE to get one. I just got mine about two weeks ago and I am madly in love with it. It has come in handy so many times already, I don't know how I got along without it. I will give you some examples:

1. I got the AT&T navigator service with it, so it is also a GPS. I punch in where I want to go, or if it is a business, I put in the business name and it looks it up for me and then plots the directions. It has turn by turn instructions and the voice announce thingy, so I sit in on my dashboard and drive and it tells me where to go. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

2. We were at the doctor's today and the doc was way backed up. I had to keep my daughter occupied, so what did I do, I went on iTunes and downloaded a Dora the Explorer episode for $1.99 and she watched it while we waiting. NO MELTDOWNS.

3. We were in the mall this weekend and the kids were getting tired but my hubby needed to still buy shoes, so I took the kits to the play structure in the food court and let them go crazy. I sat and checked email and sent a bunch of text messages to friends. Also surfed the web a little bit. So, I didn't go crazy from boredom sitting by myself.

4. I had to make an appointment for my daughter while I was out but didn't have my planner. So, I entered into my iphone calendar. When I got home, it was all synced up with my computer without even plugging in (it syncs over the network or wi fi). Time saved and appointment not forgotten!

I could go on and on....this thing rocks the house. Get one, you won't regret it!

Susan

WAIT!!!!

http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/10/18/verizon-droid-is-theeal-deal/

check out the Droid from Motorola, on the Verizon network! They have an exclusive product from Google, that has FREE voice navigation and turn-by-turn directions with PICTURES of the streets and the turns. can you believe that? And a full keyboard that pops out so you can actually thumb type faster than on the iphone keyboard.

This is the one on my wish list for Christmas!!

SO TRUE!!

I'm going to get one this week. I would go, like, right now, but I want to pick it up instead of ordering it, and the closest store is like 30 minutes away. Maybe tomorrow during lunch......

I will keep you all posted :)

I'd go for the 3gs (for the video camera and compass) and get as much memory as you can.

I am approaching my 1 year anniversary with my iPhone, which i call iPhonia.

DH and I broke our service agreements with Verizon (yah, thanks for not letting us upgrade early, no, i'm not still bitter) and got iPhones. Have never regretted it. Should actually thank Verizon for not being more accommodating and pissing me off.

I think it is even helping me a bit more organized :). Like my grocery shopping list is always with me b/c my phone is always with me. Google OTA calendar/contact sync, love it.

The main reason I hear that people don't like the iPhone is b/c of the virtual keyboard. Have you tried that out, Col? although I know one person who was going to return her iphone b/c of the keyboard but then got sucked in by the apps and now loves her iphone.

Keyboards don't bother me. My current BB is a crazy keyboard compared to lots of phones, and I got used to it pretty quick. So I should be ok. :)

iPhonia made me giggle :)

I'm gettting an iTouch for Christmas, but I keep wondering if I will regret not getting an iPhone instead. Uggh! I really don't talk much on the cell phone that I already have. But I wonder if I'll really miss the internet option when I'm out and about.

It's a slippery slope Julie, be careful! LOL! I don't use teh internet on my BB much, I'm solely addicted to getting my email on my phone. I will never not have that option ever again. I seriously can't live without it.

yeah the itouch not sure..it's nice to not have the monthly commitment but you have to be in a wifi area to get net...sooooo it's a tossup I would think

all my friends and family are on verizon so the change to a new carrier could end up costing me more ....but like everyone else I soooo want an Iphone. Super interested in seeing the Droid that just came out esp since it has a keyboard. I have a Itouch Julie and I am love it and can do most anything that the Iphone can except utilize things that need wifi but my verizon phone has the navigator, my email and a browser so I am good. However, I am thinking of getting the new portable wifi Verizon offers - that will so resolve any issue I have of finding a wifi hotspot.

Do it Col!!! I LOVE my iPhone... LOVE LOVE LOVE it! LOL!

I just switched from Verizon to AT&T back in August (I think) and I only wish I had done it sooner! Plus, my husband has a blackberry and after using that, I love the iPhone even more because it's SO much easier to use!

You'll be able to get on the internet with the iTouch Julie! My hubby has one and goes on all the time!

I use the internet on my iPhone WAY more than I use the phone. It is so nice to be able to just quickly look something up no matter where I am. I've used it to look up traffic in the car, product reviews at Best Buy, a recipe at the grocery store. I  it.

I don't know, since you aren't used to having one, I think you'd be fine. We have a prepaid cell phone we rarely use... and dh has an itouch. he uses it all the time. When he's out, he'll just use his apps or listen to music and doesn't need/care about the internet. I think it's totally worth it to NOT have the monthly payments.

Plus, maybe it's just me, but it's kind of nice to get away sometimes you know? Get away from the internet, phones, etc. I'm on the internet enough without an iphone!

I can't afford the extra $30 a month that having an iphone would cost us ... so I am currently begging for an iTouch.

I already pay $45 a month on top of my plan to have my Blackberry service and 1500 texts. The iPhone would be the same price, so that's not an issue for me either.

For those of you who have the iPhone, what's your experience with battery life?

I'm waiting to buy the iPhone until I find out if apple can/will fix my iPod.

Awww I want one but like Darla all my family are on verizon so it isn't worth it right now but I'm so thinking about it...
