How's the weather in your neighborhood?

oh you poor things, I live in southern spain and we have only seen a couple of snowsfakes in 9 years, today we were working in the garden and the temperature in the sun was in the high 70`s, very hot so I`ll be thinking of you all.

We are still in middle of "Snowstorm Allison" as the local news is calling it... we should have about 15 inches of snow when all said and done which should be late this afternoon/evening. :glare: The winds are suppose to pick up this afternoon to around 40 miles per hour... and tomorrow temps dip to 10 degrees (F)... with -20 wind chills... lovely! My hubby just called to see if there is garbage pick up was still on for today... and it is! Can you believe that? They ask everyone else to stay off the roads... those poor guys!

How's the weather by you? Are you/have you been impacted by this storm?

ROTFL I didn't know the snowstorms had names too...maybe they demanded equal status? :p

We're in Kansas City area ... we got a couple of inches but by the time we left the house...the plows had it all plowed and some of the streets were just wet. It's about 11 degrees here...and the storm is over. It snowed overnight and was over by the time we woke up.

Some of the school districts in the Metro on the Missouri side got cancelled but ours was in session on the Kansas side.

We had some rain & sleet last night adn some more rain this morning but it's just overcast now. It's inthe mid 40s with tomorrow in the mid 50. We have flood warnings going on though because the snow from Saturday is all melting & with all the rain the creeks & rivers are running high & low lying areas on roads have deep puddles on them.

Stacey...where do you live?

I'm in Central Iowa (Des Moines) and it's pretty nasty out. (Not that I've really left the house! lol but from what I can see out the window). HUGE drifts of snow - and we got about 14-16 inches in the last 24 hrs. Everything is canceled or closed. DH is home - he brought his laptop home from work yesterday since he knew the office would be closed. Wind chill is about -13. We aren't going anywhere today!

My son works for Hy-Vee (I bet you are familiar with them) and he was called by his boss this morning and told not to come in...not because of OUR weather...but because of the weather in DES MOINES and that the delivery trucks were all snowed in!

Well, while y'all get all the snow we had tornadoes and severe weather all night...just one warning after another for about 3 hours...my nerves were totally raw when it was all overwith..now though the sun is shining and it's about 57 degrees..down from about 75 last night..it's supposed to get colder but nothing like up North. I think I'd rather have a snow storm than tornadoes. :(

Where do you live Nikki? Wow didn't hear about any tornadoes on the news.

I'd sure send all you ladies some snow if I could!!! :) We have enough here to go around. We had 3" of snow on Sunday, then another 10-12" yesterday with 40 mile an hour winds. My son's school and daycare were closed yesterday and today, and I wouldn't be surprised if they are closed tomorrow too! I got sent home from work yesterday around 2:00 and didn't even attempt to go in today. My hubby works at a heart hospital and so he HAD to go in last night and when he came home this morning (took him 30 minutes to go 5 miles), he spent 1 1/2 hours scooping the drive just to get his truck into it. Here are some pictures:

After scooping:

The piles along the drive are approximately 4-5 feet deep...

Mississippi...I don't think any touched down, but we did have lots of warnings for our county...I've been out running errands today and there were LOTS of trees down being cleared from the highways. It's gorgeous today though...kind of windy but the sun is shining and it's about 55 degrees.

I'm in Charleston, South Carolina this week house hunting and we are in the 70's today with some rain and thunderstorms. We actually went to the beach earlier today.

Sounds like a lot of you are getting the storm we've had all week.

Today is the first day the sun has been out in like 5 days. We've had snow and bad roads since the weekend which is really really rare for us. Normally we're lucky if the snow lasts through the day with how much sun we get here.

On Tuesday we had rain, rain and rain all day, yesterday temps around 30C/86F, today we expect temps in the high 60s, low 70s and storms:huh:

The storm is missing us here in ND, but being on the other side of it, its freezing here. We had a nice warm November and ever since December hit, its been freezing. Its currently -2 without windchill.
