Howdy from Atlanta, GA!

Hi all! I'm Angel from Atlanta. 30-something YO wife and mother of two teenagers.

I've been a graphic designer since before dinosaurs roamed the land, and scrapbooking since the mid 90s. Only recently did I start designing digital layouts. I REFUSED to go digital for the longest time because I spend 10 hours a day in front of Photoshop for my job, why the heck would I want to play with it at home? But then I started finding all the yummy digital kits. Naturally I HAD to have them. And I couldn't justify having them without actually using them. So here I am. :P Paper scrapbooking is kind of theraputic for me, all the cutting and gluing and messiness of it, so I'll never give it up totally...

The Sweet Shoppe was where I purchased my first kits, so I have kind of a sweet (heh) spot for it. Thought I'd join the forum and see if I could get some motivation, inspiration, and maybe some other "ations" while I'm here. ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome, ladies! I'm going to try the "Love/Hate Relationship" challenge that's going on now. I love scrapping about every day things, so that really appeals to me. :)

I love Atlanta. I lived in Alabama for about 25 years and was so bored to tears. Moved here after I met my hubby and it's such an awesome place. Except for the traffic. That sucks.

HEY! THERE'S MY THEME FOR THE CHALLENGE!! See there? I love it when a plan comes together! Eep! Now I'm all excited. ;)

haha..yeah traffic stinks..took me 45 minutes to go about 1 and 1/2 miles yesterday haha and I wasn't even IN the city!
 
Hi!! Welcome! I just moved from Atlanta back to NJ where I am from. I miss it so much though... well, except the traffic!! I used to live 18 miles frmo my job and it took an hour and 15 each way or more at times! The day my water broke I had just been sitting in traffic for over 2 hours! Can you imagine my water broke while driving... I don't want to even think about it. I also really miss The Bert Show - lol. :-)

Have fun... I am new myself and am addicted!!
 
Hi Angel! Welcome! I am also a graphics designer all day long, and people ask why on earth I want to spend my nights doing digi, but I really just love it so much, it allows me to express my creativity in other ways that my job allows.

It's nice to have you here! :)

haha you did leave recently he hasn't been around too long..hehe they moved stations. Now on 99.7 instead of 100.1! lol

and Steve and Vicky from Star94 went to B98.5. I guess though for their age/generation it's more popular for them

Im a Q convert myself..Loved my Star but blech not so much anymore lol
 
they moved q100 to 99x?? oh wow! we left july 07. and steve and vicki are at b98.5. i leave for 9 monjths all all heck breaks loose on the radio there. lol. who does star in the mornings? not that i care b/c i never listened to them. just curious. lol
 
I am a nerd and had to go see for myself on their site. They changed frequencies. They had problems with that one for years! Aw, the Bert Show... so much fun in the mornings. :-)

Side salad..I don't listen to radio much, but when Jules and I were driving to/from Alabama a couple weekends ago, we heard some funny stuff. IDK if it was Steve & Vicky, but it was a man/woman duo and they had be rollin! They were asking people to call in and tell them what they would invent to make life easier, and one of the callers suggested a giant who would pick her car up and travel from one place to the next in minutes. Weird, but they had fun with it. :)

i am LMAO re getting a giant to pick up the car!!!! i am in hysterics right now. :thumbup:
 
I love the Bert show, but my commute is so quick (only takes me 10 minutes to get to work) that I don't really get to hear much of it. Yes, you can all throw things at me now LOL!

I wish they'd let me stream radio over the internet at work, but they won't. Grrr!

I was the same way! Then I became a SAHM and had a little one that got into my paper stuff, so digital became perfect for me.
