How many times?

I think its awesome when kits are used more than once. Here at SSD kits are usually sooo full that I know with me I try hard to make sure someone can get more than one use out of it <3

I love that all those layouts are so different!!

I know I've used some of yours more than once too!

hmm... I typically only used a kit once, unless I'm doing a book and I want all the pages to match... however, elements will reappear time and again - especially themed elements. ;)

I usually use them more than once...once now and then I will definitely revisit a kit later.

DH keeps reminding me that the reason why I do digital is because I buy the stuff once and can reuse it over and over. He just doesn't understand that I HAVE to buy new stuff!! LOL

BTW...I thought your question was going to be...how many times did you redo your video? LOL I was all set to answer 25 outtakes until I got the final video! LMAO

I use kits as many times as I can. Seriously. I won't buy a kit unless I can see myself using it on multiple layouts. I prefer to get 3 - 5 layouts out of a single kit. I have done 20 page albums in the past where I use the same kit on all 20 pages and I just love that look. I don't see myself ever using a kit just once (unless it is a mini kit) because I don't pile all the elements and papers on one page and I usually have several favorites within a kit. :)

It depends on the kit. Libby's 1st and 10 football kit I've used a gazillion times (OK, maybe 20 or more?). And will be using it more in the future.

I scrap by color more than anything else, so if a kit has the right colors in it for my photos and some generic elements, I'm more apt to use it more than once.

I don't use a whole kit more than once probably, but I pull pieces from them all the time...especially from my own since I remember what's in them best.

To be honest, it never occurred to me to ONLY use a kit once:huh: LOL - And it's not because I'm cheap, I have TONS of kits and I buy what I want, but if I like a kit I don't feel it's a faux pas to use it more than once.

Depends on the kit. Usually just once, but there are a few I've used more than once... especially holiday/birthday kits.

I typically only use a kit once, unless it's like a birthday kit or Christmas kit...then it might get 2 or 3 uses. I think one of the main reason I haven't re used a lot of kits is because I tend to scrap from my "unused" scrap folder...so I'll go in there and pick a kit and then I'll go find photos!! I'm sure eventually I'll get to where I may re use a kit or two...but I doubt it...there is just too much new goodness coming out week after week that I find that I just never quite empty that unused kit folder!!! :D :D

I do like some of the other though and I am always pulling out my favorites from the same kits and re using them!!!

I went back about 20 pages and these were the only repeats I found (that weren't a Christmas kit)...and they were more then like only because the kit was re released!!! :D :D

Ha ha! Me, too... (both the thinking that's what this was about AND the 25 takes...).

This thread makes me happy, Nikki, because, like Kristin said so much goes in to a kit, it's really disheartening to think that all that work only goes into one page for someone... and then they want something new the next week. Yikes--that is a hard production schedule to follow. LOL!

For me, I like to mix and match so I certainly use things more than once. :)

I try to use a kit twice and then delete it... but it may be awhile before the second turn. Granted after it is deleted it is still on my ehd... just in case hehe

I reuse some kits several times. Here are the ones I can find quickly. There are more, but I have to take my dd to Netball now.

There are some I use more than once but I am mostly a one time girl. Mainly because I am a shop-a-holic and need to use all the stuff I buy. I don't even want to mention the HUGE list of stuff I haven't even used yet. LOL

I will reuse a kit more than one time, in fact I like to so do. I am terrible about buying and then not using at all though. I still have kits that I need to get used for the first time. I buy what I like and not necessarily what I have photos for, so it can take me a while to use a kit. :p

This is totally me. I buy faster than I scrap or I'll grab a kit on sale because I've saved a layout I want to lift so I'm happy to just scrap with a kit!

Generally speaking, I will use really themed kits more than once, so like an apple orchard or strawberry patch kit, Christmas kit, birthday kit, etc. Especially for things that only come around once a year, I've used the same kit for multiple years.

More generic kits usually only get used once. They live on my EHD in case I feel moved to use them again, but I don't plan or count on it.

I used to use kits more than once all of the time, but I don't have as much time to scrap, so it's not as common anymore.

I've used this template of Cindy's 3 times - but the dates of the photos are so spread out, since I don't scrap chronologically lol it works for me!

I've used Kristin and Mari's Come Away With Me 4 times. I've also used Ru's kits a lot, and it helps that I can use more than one on a lo, and they mix and match well, so every lo looks different! Lately since I haven't been buying so much, I've been using kits a lot more, and I'm glad! They don't always look the same, since like someone else said, there is so much in the kits, but also I go back and pick through other kits and add little bits and pieces. I've been using a lot more kits on a single page a lot more than I used to.

I used Heat Wave by KCB twice just today :) I know I'll use it a few more times too. The pictures I scrapped with it were taken almost 6 years apart. The pages will never be close to one another in my albums.

I agree that each layout looks very different. I love reusing a kit for that reason. I never use all the elements and papers I like the first time around. :)

You made me want Country Road now. Darn it, I just spent my SRs today too. LOL

There is someone here to blame for my mindset that each kit has to be used at least twice.... TRACI REED. LOL I was on the CT at her store many years ago and we were required to scrap 2 layouts per kit. It was the same on her personal CT and I just got used to using a kit twice without even thinking about it. Later when I was designing and making quickpages with my kits I liked to put 4 quickpages in each set so I'd use the kit 4 times.

I love using kits more times. As many people said, there is so much yummy stuff inside that you can do lots of pages and they never look alike. Or you can make a series of coherent-looking pages if you want to.

I also tend to collect kits that have similar colours and combine more of them in a layout.

Recently my average is 2 pages with one kit and then using bits and pieces for the mix-and-match pages (I'm more a mixing person than a one-kit person anyway). But I've done like 6 or more layouts with one kit if I loved it a lot. My record was 14 (a calendar project). My record with a template was over 20 with a card template by Julie.

Also, going back to older ones works for me, which means I barely delete anything.

ETA: I found an older thread where I have examples of using one kit several times, just in case: https://www.sweetshoppecommunity.com/forum/showpost.php?p=831410&postcount=26

I buy kits planning to use them at least twice, sometimes a lot more. But like Sherri, I don't have as much time to scrap as I used to, and being on Melissa's CT means I get a new kit to scrap with every week :) . So I still use kits once shortly after I get or buy them, and then some I go back to for another page and some I keep ready on the laptop but end up never using again.
