How long to scrap a page?

So I've started a 6x9 album. The size is great because pages come together rather quickly--I think because you can't really have a lot of extras on a page that size. A photo and a journal card...that's about it lol! But getting used to that minimalist style took a little getting used to, and so at first making a 6x9 page took longer than making a regular 12x12!

Anyway, that got me thinking: how long does it take you to scrap a page, from start to finish? And if compared to when you first started scrapping, does it take longer than it used to, or less time? (Or the same amount?)
 
Still takes me as long today as it took me at the start. If I do a page in an hour or less that is FAST for me. Usually a couple of hours is normal. The only time I'm faster is when I'm doing a simple minimalist album like for our road trip.
 
45 min to an hour, start to finish I'd say. A lot less time now than when I first started digiscrapping and was scanning my paper supplies to do so lol
 
I'm probably a little faster than before but it still takes me 1-1.5 hours to complete. And I get interrupted all the time so it's harder.
 
If I am using a template it takes about 30 to 45 mins ideally but I get distracted though so realistically an hour. No template takes a little longer...I am much faster than I used to but I tend to go back and want to add more now, tweak this, tweak that...LOL :)
 
I almost never just sit and scrap, so I'd guess it takes me a couple of hours to finish a layout. This last week, I've been working on my 2020 album & doing multiple pages with the same kit at a time, and the process goes a lot faster.
 
All depends on template bs non template... if I’m inspired it’s like 20min... but I would say in average 30 minutes
 
I'm super slow! Probably 2 hours but then I leave it open in Photoshop for like a day and keep going back and tweaking it!
 
If I've already done some "pre-scrapping," like placing photos into a template and/or writing down the journaling, before I start the page then it's very fast -- maybe 30 minutes tops? If I haven't, then between 45 minutes to an hour.

I always have my photos & to be used kits organized so it's super-rare that I need to use time for searching through my photos or supplies.

It takes way less time to scrap now than it did back in 2003-2005 when I was just starting. I know how to accomplish the look I want and what I want in a page for it to feel "done" for me.
 
I'm a SLOW scrapper, but a lot depends on the number of photos. I can do a 1 or 2 photo layout in an hour to an hour and a half. But I scrap a lot more Project Life layouts and 4-6 photo layouts than I do 1-2 photo layouts. The many photo layouts take me 3+ hours.

I think it takes me about the same amount of time it used to, maybe longer. But how I'm spending the time has changed. I used to spend the time looking for a layout design to scraplift, using brushes to ink edges (and doing other things "manually"), and re-coloring items since kits were so much smaller. My layouts were a lot more minimalist. Now the 2 most time consuming stages are choosing a template/getting all of the photos arranged in it and clustering elements.

I'm loving all these responses!

I realized I didn't post how long it takes me in the OP lol. It's usually about an hour, but less for my 6x9 diary...I think not only because of the size but also because I make those pages for ME and me alone. I don't worry about whether the page is "perfect" the way I worry about pages that will be printed in albums that others will see.
 
Generally I do a fair amount of clustering so spend an hour or two on a page and that includes looking thru LR for photos to use. If I'm doing a page for a challenge it might take closer to the 2 hrs b/c I'll also be looking thru kits to use. CT work is a little faster b/c that decision is already made.
 
I can spend hours and hours on a layout, fussing over the little things. To be honest, most of the time I make myself stop after about 4 hours. LOL
 
Usually it takes me 30-45 minutes to do a page, but I have done some that have taken 2 hours or more!
 
I take FOREVER to scrap a page!! Several hours for sure. Sometimes, I'll only get one a day done. It's so frustrating. LOL! It's hard to silence that perfectionist part of me. I will putz around moving elements, re-doing papers...
 
Most pages, less than an hour. It depends on the page. Sometimes I will struggle with photos, papers,etc and those pages take longer. But many layouts come together very quickly, letting me get more done!

Right now, with all the girls at home during the day for school, it seems to take forever! My life didn't get paused just because they are home, but I have to do things based around them more! I can't just go into a room to get laundry, I have to make sure they aren't in the middle of a class with the camera on. Because of that, layouts seem to take longer, because my days seem to be shorter!

It usually takes me at least an hour to do a page - and up to 3 or 4 if I'm struggling once I get started. I remember when I first started scrapping (2006), messing around with a page I was doing for a CT contest that took me over 8 hours ... lol ... that's crazy!
 
If everything is going well, I can usually finish in under an hour, but this is not always the case. Sometimes, I can fuss and fiddle over a page much longer than I'd like to! Double page spreads and project life pages take a little bit longer, but I usually get those in the template and journaled before using any kits. They are a bit easier if I do them in smaller chunks.
 
Most pages take me less than an hour to complete unless I can't decide on a kit or template to use. Once those decisions are made though it goes fast as I don't do a lot of huge clusters. I'm a pretty simple scrapper.

Now if I do a more artistic layout with lots of clusters, it will take a couple of hours. But I'm on the "get it done" train and since they are for me, I just want the photos and stories scrapped.
 
Anywhere from 20 minutes to 5 hours or so. Depends on the kit, my mood, the day, etc.

I'd say definitely faster than when I first started and a page would take me all day, if not longer.
 
I've gotten faster over time, but my pages also tend to have lots of layers that just take longer to scrap. I can churn out a page in 30 mins (at the fastest), but usually I'm not doing a page in one sitting.
 
I am a slow scrapper, 2 hours is a normal to me.
If I'm not in the mood/no mojo and or busy with work, it even takes longer :blink:

If I'm very inspired I could make a layout in an hour but that rarely happens, lol :D
