I'm watching a video over at Scrapaneers and the person doing the video said a word that made me pause the video and wonder "just how does one say that word?"

So here I am to ask you, how do you pronounce
TEMPLATE

Do you pronounce it
Tem - plate

Do you pronounce it
Tem - plit

Do you pronounce it
Tem - plut
**ə ("uh") sound - which is a common "reduced vowel" sound in English

What's correct? :D

I pronounce it more like tem-plit but even that is not exact how i say it (and I think it might even be one of those words that sometimes I will say it more like tem-plate too?

toooo much thinking for a sunday morning wendy. lol

Saying it out loud I say tem-plit... but reading it my brain says tem-plate.. haha!

We've been dealing with a dog barking for several weeks. Sadly, four of the five of us have been awake since 2am due to the said dog barking until 6am when the neighbors finally took him inside. We are exhausted. When I'm overly exhausted, I tend to do more thinking than I should. It's the serious side of me that I try to quiet 90% of the day! :D

I think for me, I say it the latter, but with a mix of the "a" and "i" together. It's not an "ate" sound and it's not an "it" sound.

Don't worry, I got another question coming--but I'll save it for tomorrow since I know Sunday's are slow online for most people!

I never thought there could be a different way to say tem-plate! There's no 'i' in template. :D

Tem-plate, like you would say dinner plate. My brain sees it no other way!

I would say somewhere in-between. Not with an "i" sound, but with an ə ("uh") sound - which is a common "reduced vowel" sound in English.

hmmm either or. I thought I was a tem-plate girl but I also say tem-plit too apparently. More so it's tem-plut for me.

I added the third way, which seems to be the way how I say it as well. I just couldn't figure out the vowel sound that I say when I say that word

I think I have my own language which consists of somewhat if a southern drawl but not like the movies. (Teemplutt) but even that's not 100% that looks like it's steel magnolias worthy lol
