How do you organize...

your templates?? I don't have any problem organizing packaged ones (like Bree's) because I put those in a folder with her name on it. I'm curious about those random ones that you get as freebies from here, there and everywhere.

Like the ones that Dani's girls do, the ones that people just give away cause they felt like it, the challenges you may get from blogs for prizes...

I have NO idea how to organize them so that I can remember where I got them from so I can credit appropriately, or so I can remember what challenge on what blog they were from, kwim?

Any suggestions?
 
I just started doing a New Template section for templates I haven't used, but what I also do is
1 photo
2 photo
3 photo
4 or more photos

That way, I know exactly where to go.
 
I don't have many templates (I've never bought templates, I only have freebies/cookies), so I just have them in their own folder and I have the previews visible so I can see the actual template layout.
 
yeah, I do that in ACDSee... I have them all sorted according to pics. But do you have just one general folder named Templates and sort them after that? How do you keep track of where you got them so you remember where to post them (if they were for a blog challenge for example)....
 
I just dump them all in a templates folder lol...at this point I can tell by the name who to give credit to
 
I don't organize them at all. I put the name of the creator and put it in a template folder. In cases such as Bree's where they are collections, I do it just like a kit - bclarkson-lp14 and that's it.
 
i thought I was organized by just shoving them all in the folder called "templates"...hee hee - it does make it kinda hard to figure out what I want to use - I just search through the previews for ones that I want. If they are freestanding downloads (with no info) I wouldn't have any idea where I got them from...luckily I haven't run into that yet...
 
I have a folder just for Sweet Shoppe cookies. If I d/l a template from a designer, like Dani's monthly blog challenges, I have a folder in my Dani folder called templates. :)
 
Oh, yeah, I have a template folder and I usually have it broken down by designer, but lately I've been lazy. LOL!

Like I have a folder for Karah Fredricks, Janet Phillips, etc.
 
I group them in subfolders by number of photos in my template folder, unless there are a lot of them. Aggie has her own folder. :)
 
I have a template folder
everything pretty goes in there (no sub folder for designers or number of photos)

I title everything w/ lots of details
bree clarkson solitaire 3
bree clarkson blog challenge 2
bree clarkson december desktop template

dani's girls december template (this would be her blog challenge)

***I try to name them all the same way...
I did notice that some were the other way around too, like:

Junebug SSD Cookie Decorating 091708 free

but otherwise than naming them w/ lots of details they all go in one folder...

I don't download many templates as freebies. I found that I rarely went back to use them. If I want to use it for a challenge (like Dani's girls) I tend to use it right away to do the challenge. After it's used, I delete it.

As for organization, templates are organized within the designers folder (Bree has a folder, Jen Caputo has a folder, Janet Phillips has a folder, etc). Cookies go into the general SSD folder.
