I saw on TV that 1 in 5 marriages are by people that met online. So it got me to thinking, how did you meet your DH? Poll now included. :)

oh no! I forgot the "met at work" option! bummer :(

Online. LOL!

Andrew and I met in an MSN chat room on October 21, 2001. We met in person on November 29. I moved in right after Christmas and we married on his 32nd birthday, March 22, 2002.

And yes, I'm too impatient to wait for the poll.

We met at school - college. We were both in marching band - both played the alto saxophone. We became really good friends first and then I made the moves :) lol

Online!

I met DH on a friends website in October 04, we met in person on November 19th 2004, we got engaged on Jan 5th 05 and I found out I was pregnant on Valentines Day 2005, Dominic was born November 12th, we married on November 19th 2005!

my aunt gave DH my celphone # and we started texting :) so i voted family introduction.

My DH helped me move my belongings out of the house I shared with my then husband! LOL I always say "Jeremy helped me leave my exhusband". LOL He was a friend of a friend of my moms....mom called him and asked him to help me move. At the end of the day, my cousin and I were going out for dinner - told Jeremy I'd buy him dinner for helping me. He said he was going to a local night club that night and why dont we all go - the rest is history. We spent that night together, and the next 11 years.......

I met my husband at church. We got married there too and still go there now. I actually met him in the singles bible study which is now completely gone because we all got married. LOL

Met him our freshman year of highschool, started dating our sophomore year and have been together since then. (7 years now)

Grade school...2nd grade to be exact...
dated in high school...not BF or GF...just dated..
went on to marry other people..
after both of our divorces we got together..
I was divorced 10 years and him only about a year.
We married in 2004♥

I met my ex-husband at work, but I met my current boyfriend online. So many people look at me like I have 3 heads when I tell them how Jeff and I met, so I'm glad to hear that it's the norm around here anyway. LOL

My hubby and I met in highschool. I was a junior and he was a senior and we have been together since then. That was 9.5 years ago.

We met online in a chatroom. He lived 15 mins north of me and I had never met him before. After 9 months of going together we got married. We have been married for 5 years and counting :)

He was one of my customers at work... and a friends neighbor. He's 17 years older than me, but the mutual friend, kept encouraging him to take me out.

He asked me to lunch, I said no, I'd be the only supervisor left in the building at that time, & my boss called him back & said she'd stay a little longer & sent me to lunch. :) We've pretty much been together ever since. Except for a few nights when he was on long haul.

We just celebrated our 4th anniversary, will be together 5 years at the end of June.

We met at church. But, it was funny that after we met, we realized a few other connections. I had been good friends with one of his cousins in college, and his sister was married to a guy I had grown up with (like I'd know him since I was 2). So, I guess if we hadn't met at church, we might have met in a few other ways. It was meant to be. :)

We met at a bar/club, close to where I lived. My roommate and I had gone to the bar a few times, but the night I met him, I was with 6 other married couples. I was so uncomfortable, being the only single girl. Glad he started talking to me. We went on our first date 3 days later. He picked me up 45 minutes late wearing sweat pants and a t-shirt. My roommates couldn't believe I went on a second date with him. So glad I did.

We met in our athletics club (so I suppose "gym" is the nearest option :)) I was running the shortest tracks and he the longest ones. :)

I met my husband online. Unfortunately, our marriage ended 19 days after it began. His issues-- he was abusive, and fantastic at hiding it.

Anyway, I digress, I didn't vote in the poll, and I don't want to skew results with our 19 day marriage, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Furthermore, our little... issue... is not enough to scare me away from online dating, and as soon as our divorce is final, I do plan on trying it again. Though, this time, I plan on being a lot safer and less stupid about things.

We met at the University at the office of students' organization :) I was a freshmen, the first semester has just started... I got him with my computer-geeky and webmaster skills :D

Okay okay he's not my husband. But fingers crossed he one day will be so I took part. We kind of met eachother at different times...

The first time I met him he was running around the oval in little football shorts and I signed up to be on my friends mixed touch rugby team on the spot.

The first time he met me was in my backyard at my senior year after-ball party. I marched right up to him and asked if he thought I was pretty. (I didn't get Belle of the Ball and was a little um, under the influence)

He didn't tell me about our first meeting until after we got serious. I think it's hilarious and could vaguely remember it after being told about it. :)

I think it's so cool there as so many of you found your soul mate online. Thank goodness for technology!

Hehe, you missed the option - I haven't yet met my husband. But that's nitpicking, because the topic of the challenge is clear enough, so that option would be kind of useless. :-))))

Still, the real option you missed is - I met him at work. That seems like a real choice for me and worked for a lot of people I know.

i kinda wanted to choose two options - met thru friends and met at a bar/club.

I met my husband for all of about 2 minutes when i ran into a friend at the shops. She worked with him and they were on their lunch break. I actually told my friend she should go out with him cos he was so cute! But they had a brother/sister relationship going on, and he had a girlfriend. I had a boyfriend, so i didnt really think twice about him after that.

A few months later, I was newly single, and out at a bar where i was supposed to be meeting my above mentioned friend. I couldnt find her, but i recognised him, and went over to ask him if he knew where my friend was. Turns out, he was newly single as well. We spent the rest of that night drinking and dancing and talking. My friend rang me the next day to ask if it was ok if she gave him my number. We went on our first date the next day and have been together ever since. That was almost 10 years ago, weve been married for almost 2 and have a 10mth old baby. xxx

I met mine online (not a dating site) in July'95, we met NYE that year, were engaged that weekend, married the next August...still going strong :)

we met in high school. we were friends and started dating around graduation of my senior year. we'll be together for 14 years in june and married for 9 in sept. :)

We met at work. Started dating within 2 weeks of meeting, got engaged a year later, and married 7 months after that.

We met at a mutual friends party/BBQ. He made me laugh all night - and 10 years later he still cracks me up every day

We met the very first day of college freshman year. We were in the same Interface group (a getting to know you kindof thing for incoming freshman). Most of us in the group instantly became friends and some we're still friends with. He followed me around campus for about 2 weeks before he asked me out and I agreed to go with him. We've been together almost 18 years now and will be married 13 years in August.
