ok not the exact lyrics but i didn't want to type them all out. I watched mamma-mia over the holidays when we were at my hubby's moms. I didn't think i'd like it but gosh I LOVED it. I forgot how much I loved musical movies. such a cute/funny movie. Totally recommended!
 
LOL, I was up till about 3:30 this morning watching that movie...couldn't sleep, so I figured I'd scrap and watch TV.
 
Ok, I'm sorry, but really!?!?! Ya'll liked it? Don't get me wrong, I'm a total musical JUNKIE. But I just watched Mama Mia on friday night and I thought it was AWFUL!! The acting was atrocious, the singing was sub-par, and the whole movie didn't capture the vibe of the on-stage adaptation AT ALL.

But, thats just my opinion. ;)
 
I liked it too... it was a little hokey but cute. DH was going to take me to it when the live Broadway show came to Saskatoon, but we didn't end up going... Wish we would have now that I've seen the movie!

Although then I may have been spoiled if the live version is way better than the movie version...
 
Me too! I went just to be nice with my SIL and loved it! I later went to a sing-along version in theater that was quite fun. I just rented it over the weekend again.
 
Cute... hokey but cute... DH would rather me jab him in the eye with a fork than watch it, so I saved it for a morning when he slept in. :) It's the songs that make it good... the rest could fall away...
 
I loved this movie...it's a typical chick flick type. lol My scrapping friends will love it...so next time we have a weekender...I'm buying it and taking it!

I bought the soundtrack from the movie last night and was listening to it...sooooooo made me want to watch it again!

I couldn't agree with you more!!! DH and I went and saw the stage version on our honeymoon in NYC almost 6 years ago and LOVED it!! It was so fun, we got the CDs, know all the words to the songs, and we just rented the movie this past week and we hated it, but I have heard lots of people say they liked it--I just didn't think it compared at all to the stage version!!

I am glad so many people liked it though--I LOVE the music!!
 
I can't decide. I watched it Friday night too and I LOVE ABBA...but I'm not a big Streep fan ...that may be part of my problem. It was hokey, but I like hokey. I won't say i wish I hadn't watched it, and I think it was cute but maybe didn't quite live up to all the hype? And the one dance scene in the bedroom with the three women where one made a fake ...umm....man part? yeah I didn't think that was appropriate. I had almost decided Katie might like it until I saw that and then I thought again. I probably wouldn't watch it again and again and again (Like I do with Phantom of the Opera) but it was cute enough, lol
 
*sigh* i wish i liked it, but alas the live vegas production i saw 4 years ago spoiled me big time.

i do however listen to my original cast soundtrack weekly. :)
