Good Morning Everyone!
I'm Evett, 27 year old San Diego resident.
I'm not really new to digital scrapbooking, but I don't think I'm doing it the way most of you are. I use a program called Microsoft Picture It! It's hard to get some of the layers and stuff. I have looked through the gallery and love a lot of the layouts. But I know there are things I can't do with my program....for example...the wrapping of ribbon. How do I do it? I don't think I can do it with the program I am using. Here is an example of a page I've done. By the way....I have no children so you'll be seeing a lot of my dogs :)

What programs does everyone else use?
And finally...what if I want to print these out? Can I take them to a Kinko's and print out a 12x12?
 
Hi and welcome to SSD. This is a sweet place to hang around.

To answer your questions, I use Photoshop CS3 to scrap with and I love it. Never used your program so I can't help you there. Many people will either use Adobe or Corel Paint Shop Pro for their scrapping. I started out on PSP X, but switched to CS when I got my Mac in August.

As for printing, Kinkos can be a little pricy in their printing. There are some online services that I believe are cheaper. I use a local printer here in my town that charges me .50 for the first 100, then reduces it to .35 and I can't beat that anywhere else! LOL

I usually print 9x9 because 12x12 can be expensive and that is the size scrapbooks I have.

So...Adobe or photoshop....good to know.
I'll have to check into some online services to see if I can get a better rate than Kinkos. Thanks for the input :)
 
Welcome!! I use CS3 too so I'm no help. You could start with Adobe PSE5 or 6 and that would be a lot less expensive with just as much functionality that's needed for scrapping!

CS2 user here so no help either..but I used to use PSP and it's rather inexpensive. You can also sometimes find an older version of it on clearance (got 9 at target for 40 bucks when 10 came out)

I print online too or at costco never used kinkos

Welcome! I've used Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS2 for scrapping. Elements is around $60-75 and it's a program that will really do most everything you need. And the nice thing is that there are a lot of tutorials on how to do things with that program, like wrapping ribbon and other techniques. Check costco if you have a membership or lots of online stores carry it for a great price. Sorry I can't help about your particular program!
 
Hi and I'm new here too....only been here a couple of weeks and I use CS2, but have used Picture It but only for my photos, not for digi scrapping...and I have to agree PSE is pretty inexpensive and there are lots of tutorials out there to help you with the program...welcome!
 
Welcome, I'm another PS user. As for printing, I print at my local Costco or have my layouts made into books at Shutterfly. Your dogs look adorable!

I'm yet another PhotoShop user - I have CS2 right now but have used PSE versions 1 thru 3, lol. It's got a much lower learning curve than the full-fledged PS does and is much cheaper. You can do pretty much everything with it - I only upgraded because I was designing! :)

I have never heard of the program you are using either, so ick, I can't help.
I scrap with Corel Paint Shop Pro X, and LOVE it...but most girls scrap with PS...
If there are any questions you have about PSP let me know, I also know that Micheline Martin one of the designers her designs with PSP, so she would be glad to help too!

I've heard of scrappers using Picture It and I used to use it looong ago for photos but I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 3 for digital scrapping. Though I've just found out that PSE3 isn't compatible with Vista so I'd suggest PSE6, it's very similar to 3 and is pretty simple to navigate once you understand what the tools do for you.

As for printing, I prefer uploading online to Walmart and picking up in store. Their prices are pretty good and I can even get prints in an hour if I am in a hurry. I don't know if they offer 12x12 printing services though, I've only printed smaller sizes.

My friend does some scrapping on Picture It, but I think she was quite limited in terms of layering and shadows.

I would recommend Adobe Photoshop Elements as well, I think it does everything you need to do and is under $100. :)
