I told my husband a long time ago that the fast food places should make it so that you could get a plain burger and they should have a topping bar to top your own burger the way you like it. Welllll Burger King is opening their first one like this in Orlando at Universal's City Walk next year in the spring. Kinda makes me wonder if that will be the new thing. It kinda makes sense though. itll keep them from having to customize your sandwich (and getting it wrong over and over) cause you can do it yourself. OK I know kinda lame but I think its cool :p LOL Soooo now I wonder if they are gonna pay me for my idea :confused: :thumbup:
 
there's been a company up here called Harvey's that has been doing this for at least the last 20 years that I know of. You get YOUR burger, not some pre-designed burger - you chose everything (kinda like Subway).
 
I think it is an awesome idea...I always get my burger specially made and it drives my husband crazy. He says I should just get it the way its made. Even when I do that though they still sometimes mess it up. Like if I oreder a bacon cheeseburger and they forget bacon?!?! Ummm yea its kinda in the name...if it doesnt have bacon on it it would just be a CHEESEBURGER!! LMAO. I kinda hope that itll start to catch on and they will change other B.K's to this format cause I do like to get a whopper jr. every now and then (like once or twice a month LOL)

I like the idea in theory and it does work at Fuddruckers, but at fast food places, I'd be worried about people messing with the food. If you knew what some of the kids in my highschool days used to do at places like McDonalds for "fun", it'd make you think twice before using food left open to the public!
 
LOL me too...never even heard of fuddruckers or harveys. we have mcdonalds, burger king, wendy's, steak & shake and checkers. Oh and hardees but there arent many of them left. There are a few whataburgers which I think are nasty. A few A & W's and Sonic's. Im pretty sure thats it. We hardly ever eat out though and when we do it is usually a fast food place like B.K. That is a treat for us lately because we are trying to save whereever we can.
 
Ohmygosh, I haven't had Fuddruckers in, like, 12 years!
Mmmmmm..... I'm off to bed to dream about yummy hamburgers!!
 
Well I have to tell you that my favorite burger place in Panam: Rock Burguer (without the hard...LOL) have this system since more than 10 years ago... hehehe
 
Hey Jessica - There's a Fuddruckers in Orlando in the mall where Bass Pro Shop is. I think it's Festival Bay. YUMMY!!!
 
I know where that is...been there several times but since they built the Gander Mountain in Lake Mary we go there now because it is alot closer to us.

the problem with these topping bars is they often attract flies and then don't seem very attended to so the stuff doesn't look very appetizing. One of the taco places has a taco bar here and it always looks like the stuff is spoiled.
 
I *heart* Harveys. They always give me extra dill pickles on the side, wrapped up, just because I like them on the side not on the burger. :) Yeah, it's kind of like Subway... they dress the burger right in front of you and you can say - just a little smear of ketchup and lots of hot peppers, etc. :) LOVE that.
