He's coming HOME!!!!!!!!!!

David is flying home TODAY!!! We've known for three months that he was going to get out of the Army after injuring his ankles, but we didn't know when. I remember when my XDH got out it took awhile. But every day I talk to David and he says, "they lost this, they lost that, I guess it will be sometime this week or next." he's said this every day for the last 7 weeks since going back after Christmas break. Monday he said it would be next week. Last night he called and said it would be sometime today! He just called with plane tickets in hand and he'll land at 11:10 tonight! :thumbup:

I'm SO excited!!!!

I've been preparing for months now...I've paid all of our bills off or ahead for atleast 6 months (some I couldn't pay "off" like our storage unit rent). I've bought cases and cases of diapers and stockpiled money into our savings account...because as of midnight tonight we are a family with no job. We are so prepared though..I've made it so that our overhead is $0 for the next six months. And truly I'll be shocked if he doesn't find a new job within 4 weeks...he's qualified and the job market isn't terrible here, I have faith he'll find something quickly.

I can't wait to see him and let him play with the kids. I need the break and he needs the interaction...it's been a long 8 months :)
 
Oh Lena!!! Thats SOOOO good to hear!! I'm sure you are over the moon excited and the kids will be when you tell them too (well Naomi anyways, lol). And I think its so great that you thought ahead and paid off or advance paid everything!!! You are an amazing woman!!
 
Lena I am so so so happy for you guys!! :wub: That is awesome that you've taken care of all of the finances like that too!! YAY for you!! I can't wait to hear all about the homecoming!! :)
 
oh Yay Lena honey! I am so happy for you! And I must say you are truly amazing and such an inspiration. You have done so well to prepare your family! Kudos to you! ((hugs))

well we're packed like sardines in here so that isn't the first thing on my mind (though I'm sure it's the first thing on his :p ) I'm sure we'll get away to a hotel sometime next weekend (we have Nathaniel this weekend...going to Ohio to pick him up tomorrow for a long weekend!)

Awesome news!! Yeah!!! And good on you for being so prepared for this, that takes discipline! You have both had a rough go with this army thing, I hope he finds a new job he LOVES. :)
 
Yeah! Such terrific news, Lena. And I'm so impressed with how you handled everything financially. Have a wonderful reunion!
 
Glad to hear you have every so set for your future. That's wonderful. So happy to hear he will be home soon! Congrats! I expect we won't see you around the forum for a while and maybe less designing for a bit. ;)
