Help With Crunch Time Templates

I'm trying to follow Micheline Martin's instructions on using her Crunch Time templates...but I'm stuck at the ctrl + J shortcut on PSE 6.0.

When I've got both layers selected and her instructions say to hit ctrl + J to get the template to take the color of my background layer...but when I do that, I only get a duplicate layer of one of the layers (either the template or my color layer).

Can anyone help?

I don't use Elements, I use PS, but it might be a typo? Try Ctrl + G instead. Or, since this changed with the new version of PS, you might even have to do Ctrl + Alt + G.

I finally got it to work!

This is the second time that I've tried this (not just with these templates) and both directions were using ctrl + J...it's CTRL + G for PSE 6.0.

Awesome, glad you got it to work! It's funny, it's always J that's the typo in the instructions, but I think I've read the same problem elsewhere too with instructions in other designer's kits. Typing up the instructions in a hurry I suppose!
