I am really unsure of myself when I post process my photos to give to other people. Basically I use actions or presets till I get something I like. I am trying to get better skin tones, those are always my downfall. How did I do this time?

My 1st edit w/ a lightroom preset (I think one of Traci's):

My 2nd edit with some free actions: a workflow, sparkle eye and one more that I can't remember at the moment

Cute photo Amber :) On my monitor the skin tone looks off, like really orange in the first edit you did but the second one looks a bit better though! Skin tones are super tough to get perfect though!

Oh did you see the reply I posted in the other photo editing thread you posted back @ the end of September? I had done a quick edit on one of the photos using some of Sarah's free actions :)

The first photo looks really orange to me too.

Are you making any adjustments in Lightroom using the Develop palette? Or are you only using actions and presets? Because actions and presets aren't usually the best way to correct a photo only because they're "one size may or may not fit all." :D

Just to give you an idea, I was able to get this just by using the Develop palette. It's good because it gives you a lot more control over what you're doing (sorry I just took a screenshot of the screen but I think it gives you an idea):
