Help with a cutting machine

Recently I have becomed hooked on crafts :) I have both Xyron 500 and 510 with all the type of cartridges available (love them!), Zoe's buttons and several various paper flowers.

Now I decided I really need a digital cutter. I have read plenty of reviews, but they vary really from 0 to 10 depending on the persol who reviews it :blink:

So I would like to know from you, girlies, who have any digital cutter, what are your experiences and whether you would recommend it...

I am considering:

Xyron Wishblade
Silhouette Cutter
Making Memories Cutter

(no problem for me to get it purchased from the US, I can have the cord re-done for the European system with adapters)
 
First off, you should know that the Wishblade and the Silhouette are exactly the same machines, they just have different branding for the separate companies.

I have the Silhouette SD and absolutely love it. I can use if for cutting any font I want, plus I can use it for cutting digital scrapbooking elements or any other element I want to make as well as the files you can purchase from QuicKutz. I would definitely recommend it.

I have found one seller on eBay who sells it for appx. $ 175 + $ 75 shipping to Europe. I think I will wait until Euro gets stabilized and then I'll buy it...
 
Hm, I think I won't be waiting anymore... the analysys say that Euro will continue to decline... :(

Until I find enough financial resources the price won't be different much. I think I will buy it from scrapbookdepot.nl as they don't charge for shipping when order is more than 50 Euro and it is the EU transaction which will be better for guarantee, no customs etc.

I have a Silhouette SD and really like it ... but I didn't know about the Pazzles machine ... I haven't researched it yet since I already have the Silhouette ... but from what I understand the Pazzles will even cut CHIPBOARD!!! ... wish mine did!

They also cost a lot more and are not portable at all, or at least not the 12 inch one my friends got. I got the Silhouette and love it. I wouldn't trade it for anything. It was an upgrade from the Cricut. :)

And she has it on sale for 275 right now. Also, If you place your order before 14.00 she'll have it in the post to you that same day. I've been buying from Cindy for many years and she gives great service.

Ouch... the price is too high! I keep sticked to the Silhouette... :p But it really must be worth the money, no doubt...

Great! Thanks again for recommendation... now I must obtain the money somehow... and then straight ahead! No-one will stop me...
 
From my fresh "fantastic" experience with Making Memories Cutter you know that I can't recommend you that one.

Good luck with finding a product that works fine for you.
 
I have definitelly decided to go for the Silhouette... now I'm just waiting whether there's gonna be a summer bonus paid as the public budget looks very bad now :cursing:

I'm right there with you. As you know, I've decided to sell the MM Slice Cutter and get the Silhouette instead. Will have to sell the old one first in order to deserve a new one, but well, sometimes we learn from our own mistakes, don't we? At least you have made up your mind also thanks to my experience. :-)))
